3. I'm still waiting for something funny to happen on this show tonight.

I take that back. Shatner gave me a chuckle.

5. The Line on the SNL Newscast
Tom Brady being replaced with a Young inexperienced Quarterback nick named Sarah Palin caused me to crack a grin.

7. WORST. SNL. EVER.
Opening Palin/Hillary sketch was good, and then a bunch of rehashed old sketches that weren't very funny the first time around. Phelps is painful to watch. If this is the best they could do for the season opener, I hate to think what the rest of the year will be like.

8. Mediocre show
Trying too hard to be funny, and missing the mark. The only thing I found funny was the Cathy comic strip parody. The HS quiz show bit had potential, but was disappointing. I watched for about an hour, then turned it off. Just no compelling reason the keep watching.

I agree. If this is the best they could do (I felt the same about the fist SNL after the writers' strike), it's not worth my time. :boring:

12. I pretty much stopped watching in the early 90s or so. I remember Chris Farley and Phil Hartman
et al. I don't remember too many people from after that. Chris Rock and a few others. But I wasn't a regular watcher by that time.

9. Don't forget that Obama bailed on them at the last minute.
They had probably built their show around him and were left grasping at straws when he decided not to appear on the show. I'm sure that it would have been much, much better if he had been on the show.

10. Obama would only have been on for one sketch.
Phelps was always going to be the host. So that doesn't explain it.
