WOLF: I want to congratulate you, your lesbian daughter and her gay partner...
I would like to offer the following advice to Mr. Wolf Blitzer, the CNN news anchor millionaire when conducting a Q & A with a despised and criminal Vice President who has repeatedly lied, misled and used television stations and reporters (including Mr. Blitzer) to propogandize the Bush administrations wrong headed and damaging policies.

Mr. Blitzer, or may I use the more familiar, Wolf, as Dick did to keep you in your place and intimidate you into not asking hard questions?

Wolf here is what you said to Dick and how you responded to his bullying:

BLITZER: We're out of time, but a couple of issues I want to raise with you. Your daughter, Mary. She's pregnant. All of us are happy. She's going to have a baby, you're going to have another grandchild. Some of the -- some critics, though, are suggesting -- for example, a statement from someone representing Focus on the Family, "Mary Cheney's pregnancy raises the question of what's best for children. Just because it's possible to conceive a child outside of the relationship of a married mother and father doesn't mean it's best for the child." Do you want to respond to that?

CHENEY: No, I don't.

BLITZER: She's, obviously, a good daughter...

CHENEY: I'm delighted -- I'm delighted I'm about to have a sixth grandchild, Wolf. And obviously I think the world of both my daughters and all of my grandchildren. And I think, frankly, you're out of line with that question.

BLITZER: I think all of us appreciate...

CHENEY: I think you're out of line.

BLITZER: ...your daughters. No, we like your daughters. Believe me, I'm very, very sympathetic to Liz and to Mary. I like them both. That was just a question that's come up, and it's a responsible, fair question.

CHENEY: I just fundamentally disagree with you.

BLITZER: I want to congratulate you on having another grandchild.

He stared you down and you appeared to pee in your pants a little as he completely ducked a valid question. Here is how you should have addressed this issue, like a wolf.

WOLF: Why not Dick, you and this administration have been at the forefront of using homosexuality as a wedge issue. Your Daughter is a homosexual isn't she? She did earn hundreds of thousands of dollars working for your campaign, a campaign that actively promoted and courted the religious right's homophobic beliefs. Did the administration, that many have noted you have more power as the Vice President than any other in history, promote and support a constitutional ammendment banning gay marriage...legally prohibiting the same type of relationship your daughter Mary currently enjoys with her lesbian partner. Can't you see the hypocrisy in your public platform and the private behavior of your daughter?

CHENEY: I'm delighted -- I'm delighted I'm about to have a sixth grandchild, Wolf. And obviously I think the world of both my daughters and all of my grandchildren. And I think, frankly, you're out of line with that question.

WOLF: Well, time and time again you have proved, by your own statements and actions, that what you think is pretty far removed from reality...or so many have said. I am just stating what other people are saying.

CHENEY: I think you're out of line.

WOLF: Don't you think the religious right community, which has supported your administration more so than any other element within the U. S. population deserves to know why your public and private stances on the topic of homosexuality differ so greatly? Do you fundamentally believe what the administration's policy on homosexuality is wrong or does that only pertain to members of your immediate family? Do you agree with the policy?

CHENEY: I just fundamentally disagree with you.

WOLF: I want to congratulate you, your lesbian daughter and her gay partner on providing you an out of wedlock granchild.

Yeah Wolf you growled like a pup at the VP yesterday but as soon as he growled back you tucked tail and ran away. Keep working on it and soon you will be able to growl back and maybe even bite a little.

3. That exchange showed just how much of an a-hole Cheney is
Just like his snarling, angry wife, Cheney jumps on the MEDIA at every opportunity. I was pleasantly surprised that Blitzer defended the legitimacy of the question. They can't get away with this "blame the media first" tactic to avoid the tough questions.

That was the point when Wolf started giving Cheney a r*m job. Right on TV, during a time period when Americans might be watching. They should save that crap for late night, when all the right wingers come slithering back home from their extra marital affairs, and want to watch a little teevee before crawling in bed with the spouse.

He acts like one constantly, but he'll get pissed off if you call him on it.

And Wolf is almost as big a HYPOCRITE.

Do you think groups such as Focus on the Family, who are critics of your daughter's pregnancy and relationship, are "out of line"?

Are you saying then that it is a private matter, Mr. Vice President, and not related to public policy and therefore out of bounds? Because these critics--who happen to be some of your Adminstration's and your party's staunchest political allies--believe that it is very much a public policy matter, and I must point out that the Bush Administration has aligned with them in making anti-gay rights agenda items their policy priorities in the recent past, notably with your support of the so-called marriage amendment.

Is it a case of something being a purely private, personal matter for you and your family--out of bounds for discussion and beyond the scope of government action and the reach of the laws, but for anyone else in a similar situation--gay couples wishing to adopt, or to conceive, or to be married-- it is suddenly somehow a matter of public policy and debate whether they have rights or not?

Whattaya think, Mr. Cheney?

Cheney proved to be the erasable and insurmountable old bastard we know and hate. Wolfie wilted in the glare of Cheney's shotgun stare. My expectations of the interviewee and interviewer were met. It was disgusting and lovely affair.

11. "And I think, frankly, you're out of line with that question."
It seems odd to me that Cheney addresses Wolf as the questioner, rather than addressing the critics, which are the subject of the question. It isn't Wolf who is saying there is anything wrong with Cheney's daughter, he's asking how Cheney reconciles what his party stands for and what he knows to be true in his private life--and the way Cheney responds seems to suggest--well, that he doesn't. It's compartmentalized. It would've been really refreshing to hear something like, "Well, my grandchild is going to be raised in a loving and secure home and that's what matters to me." It's that same kind of off-note I got from Lynn Cheney over Kerry's mentioning that Mary was gay in a neutral (not saying he had to bring it up--but it was neutral) matter-of-fact way--she called him a "bad man." It's bad to mention a fact? Are the haters that influential they can't even address it?

13. Cheney completely controlled the interview
It has become acceptable to the media to allow politicians (unless the are Democratic ones) to dictate the questions and answers and to decide if a question is appropriate or not. Cheney is just one of many in this administration who absolutely refused to answer questions from the media. It is disgusting how cowardly our press has become.
