Son Track Palin Hothead Often Kicked out of Hockey Games
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 12:19 PM by RamboLiberal
Just an interesting tidbit in the Palin family dynamics. Say something about the parenting?

Parents with especially talented skaters or with enough money or both often do what the Palins eventually did with Track, which was to write a check and send him to special hockey development programs out of state. Housed with teammates, the boys go to local high schools and play on sponsored teams intended to attract attention from college recruiters.

In 2006, the year Ms. Palin was elected governor, Steve Lowe snatched up Track for a slot on the developmental AAA team he coaches in Kalamazoo, Mich. Mr. Lowe liked that Track, a forward, was extremely focused and aggressive on the ice. If he could manage his temper a little and improve his shooting, the boy could have gone all the way, he said.

The temper was a longstanding problem. Hockey is a raw sport, but Track pushed the limits and often got kicked out of games in Wasilla and at least once in Michigan. The parents who had watched Track grow up on the ice said he was very popular with his teammates and generally a pretty good student. But on the ice, he was an animal.

Curt Menard, a longtime family friend, said he would often sit next to Ms. Palin’ s parents to watch their grandson play. If Mr. Menard arrived after the game started, he said, he would ask if he was too late to catch Track.

“Track has a temper so sometimes you’d only see him half the game,” Mr. Menard said. “Get there late and he’d already be out.”

8. Not Likely
He's being assigned as a guard for the command element of his brigade, he'll spend time in the rear for the most part. That's not to say that he might not be put on a checkpoint, but it will likely be in a garrison environment.

14. Or out clearing the way for VIPs & brass.
I know a couple active military guys who did guard security for VIP's & big brass in the Green Zone & elsewhere throughout Iraq and they had plenty of occasion to use their firearms on suspicious or non-compliant locals.

21. Exactly
Despite the $900 designer eyeware and good teeth, Palin (and her family) are relentlessly self-interested trailer trash.

5. There's a place for aggression in hockey but nobody likes an asshole.
You don't help your team if you're stuck on the bench.

19. Yep - sounds like he was on the road to nowhere
Levi felt pressure to perform in the rink and clashed with his father over hockey several times, said Mr. Johnston, the second cousin. “He threw all his gear in the burn pile once,” Mr. Johnston said.

In the end, hockey did not work for Levi. His grades slipped, he left school and quit playing altogether.

The dream for Track unraveled too, starting when he separated his shoulder in Michigan. By March 2007, he was back with his family and that spring graduated from Wasilla High School.

I'm betting once the election is over this guy will disappear and there never will be a wedding. And if there is it won't last long unless Sarah's connections get him a cushy job he's totally unqualified for - just like his MIL.

18. I skate.
I've noticed some hockey parents want their kids to exhibit extremely aggressive behavior. They teach them to hit. Many are very involved in their churches. So much for Jesus.
