Rs Are Sticking To Rove's Big Tactic: Creating Their Own Reality

Remember this quote from a Ron Suskind article in the NY Times, spoken by an aide to bush?:

"The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." ... "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors…and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

That's what they're doing in this election cycle as well. THAT is the message that the Ds need to HAMMER on every day.

Palin's celebrity is a "new reality" that has been built entirely on lies. As the lies have been exposed in the media as lies, another new reality has emerged, ie: it doesn't matter that the lies are lies as long as they reinforce the new reality of Palin that was built on the lies to begin with. Check the media yesterday and today. There are numerous articles asserting this "new reality" as if it were received opinion. Chuck Todd says that McCain "won the battle of defining Palin's roll out," which means that the LIES they spewed to define her are now accepted as truths about her, even as they are proven to be lies and even DEFINED as lies by the likes of Chuck Todd and others.

Yes, the media is in there assisting the Rs with their Rovian strategy. As Obama directly and forcefully addresses the lies as he did today, what new reality emerges? Well, you have Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan on immediately after Obama addresses the lies asserting that, like Mike Dukakis, Obama is NOT addressing the lies!!! Get it? Obama addresses the lies, and the RW bloviators assert that he hasn't addressed the lies. They assert a "new reality" that avers that Obama is Dukakis all over again, even though IN REALITY, he DID address the lies.

Ds need to address this reality and the cynicism behind it. I don't know how to do it in a sound bite, but that's what it's really all about.

they INSIST their favorite donar Exxon Mobil are honest brokers and the ONLY reason the price of oil is going up is because of SUPPLY & DEMAND..THEN...viola..out of thin air the REASON the price of oil is going down is that the REPUBLICANS even mentioned drilling offshore???? and not one person even flinched...it left my head spinning!!!!

Of course there is the 'experience' is everything, till they roll out ole lipsticked pitbull...then it means nothing..er uh, well they meant 'executive' experience all along and the smallest bit is all that is needed to be president....NEVER MIND JUDGEMENT..
