We need to phone bank the Washington Journal-
I got through this morning, after trying for three hours, and I would love to hear more good DUers get through. It seems that the vast majority of people that call are rabid pugs, or unfortunately uniformed Dems. Maybe 1 in 10 callers manage to put together a complete sentence or a coherent thought.

I mentioned the fact that the span is trying to scare us this morning. First half hour was about how American is going to lose its dominance in the world, another half hour was about WMD and how we could be attacked, and then of course they had some song and dance radio talk show person trying to convince all of America we need to be afraid of brown people. I got a plug in for both Bill Durston, running in Ca-3 and Charlie Brown, running in Ca-4, I mentioned that anyone making less that 250k voting for McLame is like chickens voting for Colonel Sanders. Then I made the mistake, at the end, of telling the host she looked great this morning. (Just can't help it, I think she's hot.)

So my questions are- Have you ever called Washington Journal? Do you watch? What about having a C-span forum?

2. This was the second time for me as well.
With that 30 policy, it makes it kind of hard. That's why it would be great to get a few people together to make calls everyday.

I must have made over a hundred calls this morning. Sometimes it would ring and ring until a recording came on telling me it could not complete the call at this time, or it would be busy. What bothers me is the steady stream of idiot raciest calls that seem to get through everyday.

We need a room just for nutty spanites people like us.

5. When I was working, we had a feature on our phone system
that would keep calling a "busy" number until it got a connection then YOUr phone would ring and you could complete the call. I certainly don't have that feature on my home phone, but my guess is that a lot of the callers, especially the ones you hear all the time, have something like that.

I have regular redial, but that's a PIA to keep using for a long time!

7. Never thought of that.
I'll bet you're right on the "keep calling" feature.

9. With a decent modem and autodialer software on your voice line, anyone can do that.
The busy signal is detected by the modem and translated as a status to the software which then reinitiates the call. Hell, I wrote software like that back in the Z-80 Big Board CP/M days (early 80s) with a Hayes modem. It's not rocket science. Not at all.

10. I have that feature on my home system. It's through AT&T
A recording would come on and ask if I would like to keep trying. But there is a charge.
