Only one campaign makes sense: R = W
Republicans have controlled our country for eight years

The results speak for themselves. Lives and dollars wasted in an unnecessary war. A great American city drowned while Washington stood by and did nothing

High gas prices. Record unemployment. A collapsing real estate market. Jobs shipped overseas. Mounting deficits. Courts packed with extremists. Political misuse of the Justice Department. Lies. Scandals. Coverups

Can we really afford eight more years of Republican rule?

It's time to restore our country. It's time to restore America's reputation. Let's get back on track

1. We need to get this message across.
Everything that's gone wrong in the past 8 years policy wise has to be laid at their feet, not ours. They controlled the White House all that time. They controlled the Congress for 6 of the 8 years, and obstructed nearly every initiative in the past two.

I suggest we stop using (R-) to denote Republican lawmakers, and use "W" instead. For example:

Senator John McCain (W-AZ)
Senator Ted Stevens (W-AK)

It doesn't have to be restricted to Republicans, either, it can be used for their enablers, like Senator Joe Lieberman (W-CT).

4. I wish I was involved in deciding on ads.
I'd have Gonzo, Monica, Harriet and Rove running from Congress, the Iraq war lies, people losing homes, Enron, Abrammoff and the one constant would be they are all Rethugs - do you want more of this.

Dems need to dig up the 2006 song 'have you had enough' and show all the Rethug criminality and violation of rights.

I'd do another ad with McBush and Change. I'd show nickels and dimes - you the people get the change while they get rich.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here. I mean, I get some of it -- gas prices and deficits.

The media will say this:
****************
But, we were able to block votes on most of the judicial appointments.

Unemployment is really low, so any jobs gone overseas don't really matter. And the real estate market only collapsed where it was really over the top.
**************

Not that I'm a W-lover or anything, but I mean, he really screwed up the deficits and war things so much!!! There are so many things to bash W for, I just think we ought to stick to the things where even the media can't argue. If there's a good argument, it just makes us look negative and turns the independents against us.

7. You're wrong about the judicial appointees: Bush has put more than 300 on the bench
including some real wackos, like torture memo author Jay Bybee

8. True, but the idiots will whine about the ones we blocked
They won't pay attention to the truth about the screwballs that got through.

I'm just saying, there's enough OBVIOUSLY TRUE bad stuff about W to push that we don't have to try to sell the areas where the other side has an argument -- even if it it a weak, lie-filled argument.

10. We shouldn't say anything to which someone might respond with a "weak lie-filled argument"?

11. Enough!!!!
That word has really resonated with people I speak with. They're tired of the messes...and scared. Almost everyone is touched by high oil prices, a messed up healthcare system, high interest rates and/or foreclosure (every seems to know someone whose lost their house), possibly someone who served or was injured or lost in Iraq and the list goes on. 80% say this country is on the wrong track and many suffer quietly...but their voices are out there and so are their votes.

Many of us never got off track here. For me, this has been a very long road back and many miles are still ahead, but I have seen progress to this point and see better days ahead...but it's gonna take a lot of work between now and November 4th. We have a team of change and experience that can begin to fix the damage of the past 8 years and set in motion a long list of overdue social changes...the middle class will have a friend in the White House...and a Congress that will be able to move a lot of positive and much needed legislation to start to address real problems we all feel.

The choice is pretty simple now. "Change" as portrayed by a sell-out who went from kissing booooshie's ass 90% to 100% of the time? Whose judgement hoisted a novice as his possible successor? Or there's the solid proposals and positive agendas of Senators Obama and Biden...and the Democratic party. While the dog and pony show can dazzle the corporate media (that doesn't feel much in their beltway bubble) but it's not fooling those of us in "fly-over" country.

Let's go...

Cheers...
