Sarah Palin on Oprah?
Oprah is a champion for women's issues. If Palin is of the same cloth the two of them should have lots to talk about. Should we hold our breath for this interview? All Oprah has to do is ask. If Palin refuses she will loose a great deal of credibility with women. This play would take the wind out of the GOP sails.

1. It's Oprah's show. If she doesn't want to give that woman publicity , that's her decision.

Obama-backer Oprah says no Sarah Palin on her TV show

Oprah Winfrey, the billionaire TV talk-show diva who is supporting the Democratic presidential nominee, says she will not allow the Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin on her daily show, which is widely viewed by women.

The 44-year-old Palin is the first female nominee on a Republican presidential ticket in the party's 164-year history, though she is little-known outside Alaska, where she was elected a reform governor in 2006.

4. Oprah needs to take off the gloves. Palin is already hiding from the press.
Oprah could have a much bigger impact on women voters than she does. The GOP is projecting a Hockey Mom image that will be hard to tarnish. Oprah could deliver a punch to the GOP that few other could deliver. Obama needs to call on Oprah to help illustrate the shortcomings of the GOP and their VP candidate. I'm not an Oprah fan but feel she has the ability (and duty) to counter any Palin bump to the Mc Cain campaign.

6. I disagree. Oprah shouldn't give her a platform. Let Ms. Alaska find
her own. Oprah's also not a politician. Dissing Palin sounds perfect to me.

7. Yes, and the Repukes are spamming her boards
I spent several hours there yesterday and today trying to distill the logic that Palin's candidacy is inherently appealing because she's a woman, never mind that her platform would roll back by decades the interests of women, children, minorities, the impoverished, the socioeconomically disenfranchised and every other demographic whose interest Oprah advocates.

I don't know what's more astonishing, that Republicans in fact buy their own bullshit or that they expect the rest of the world to.

Some astonishingly uncritical thinking and flawed logic over there....

5. Not having her on the show
might be helping Palin. No possiblity of pointing out embarrassing issues.

8. Why does this carp keep surfacing? Obviously, it's a concerted effort and again, McSame is running
for POTUS, not Palin. Why is the reich pushing for McSame to be on Oprah instead?

9. Oprah has said in the beginning, no candidates on her show.
She said this after she made her choice for president public. Even Obama hasn't been on her show since she declared that. Hillary wasn't on her show. And Palin sure as hell won't be on there either.

11. I don't understand. Why no Candidates?
ratings? money? I think Palin will continue to hide from media and difficult questions. Voters will know little more than they do now if the GOP has their way. She's a pretty face and a Hockey Mom that's all we need to know. Warm fuzzies that's all we'll get between now and November.

13. Perils-of-Pauline Palin is no champion of women's issues...
and every independent, self-respecting, thinking woman already knows this.

Palin has no credibility, with or without an Oprah interview. The only "wind" that the rethugs have at the moment is that her personal life rivals that of Brittney Spears... the "American Idol" candidate that draws gossipy celebrity worshipers and fans of scuz.

15. I'd rather see Gov. Palin in a debate than on a talk show.
I like Oprah just fine, but she's no Walter Cronkite (not that she has ever alluded to being a newswoman). The line between news and entertainment has become blurry to the point of disappearing, and I think the viewing public has to take some responsibility for that. Why should we expect Oprah or Ellen or the View to deliver our news to us? and why oh why should we be hearing about the Simpson sisters or the Spears sisters on the likes of CNN? We need to take a stand or it's going to be Idiocracy for real!
Peace.
