17. Only a Republican is deluded into thinking that "Iraq" and "victory" belong in the same sentence
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 03:02 PM by Jack Rabbit
Therefore, your Republican boss liked it.

He probably also denies that global warming is a threat; thinks that if we just start drilling then gas prices will drop to 40¢/gal overnight; thinks that tax and spend like there's no tomorrow is bad, but borrow and spend like there's no tomorrow is good; that Dick Cheney is an honest man; and that if you don't tell a teenager anything about sex, his hormones won't, either.

2. Curious
I'm not contradicting you, only asking for information.

Where are you seeing that America is rejecting her? I've seen a few things, but I'd like to have all the evidence.

TIA :hi:

15. Thanks
We had an interesting conversation in my office today. My middle-of-the-road officemate had on "mainstream" talk. Not Limbaugh crap, but not very enlightened, either. The callers were very positive about Caribou Barbie. In the meantime, I was looking at those comments on CNN.

Lord, I'd love it if McSame/Barbie got lower and lower every time they open their mouths. That would be fun to watch.

16. Pretty much.
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 02:48 PM by W_HAMILTON
It's a little disappointing to hear the media talk about how that the 37m figure is signs that the "excitement gap" is closing.

Uh, no. A lot of those people that watched last night were watching for the reason you said -- for the car (more like train) wreck factor.

PS - this fact will be proven tonight, when McCain's speech is watched by far less people.

10. Not according to this:
Americans Say Sarah Palin Will Help McCain’s Campaign After Viewing Speech

Flemington, NJ, September 4, 2008 – Results from a national survey group conducted tonight among 1,000 self-reported Democrats, Republicans and Independents revealed that perceptions of GOP vice presidential pick Governor Sarah Palin improved after viewing her acceptance speech.

The study was conducted by HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion (MCIPO) to obtain Americans’ perceptions of the speech given by Sarah Palin at the Republican National Convention earlier tonight.

Among the study findings:

After viewing Palin’s speech, a greater number of respondents across all parties believe that selecting Governor Sarah Palin for vice president will help John McCain’s campaign. Republicans were especially positive about the implications of this pick, nearly three-quarters of whom suggest that this nomination will “definitely help” his campaign. After viewing the speech, 70% Republicans say they will “definitely” vote for the McCain/Palin ticket after viewing Palin’s speech.

There is a positive change in how independents anticipate voting in the Presidential election after viewing Palin’s speech, with a 9% increase among independents indicating that they will probably or definitely vote for the McCain/Palin ticket after watching the speech.

Palin’s speech proved to be equally effective in swaying votes for both men and women. Among the independents who watched her speech, respondents who report that they will “probably” or “definitely” vote for McCain increased by 10% across both genders, around 38% of female independents and 36% of their male counterparts.

The participants were asked pre- and post-viewing questions. The participants’ emotions were also measured using the Ayer Emotion Battery. To view detailed results of the study go to: www.mediacurves.com.

The Media Curves web site provides the media and general public with a venue to view Americans’ perceptions of popular and controversial media events and advertisements.
