The American public, by and large, are ignorant - and proudly so.
They don't research, they don't educate themselves on political issues, they don't even read bios or position statements. They get their news from sound bites, e-mail chain letters and blindly partisan talking heads. They revel in their ignorance. The wave it like a flag.
We just did an eight year experiment on what electing the dumb guy, the beer drinking buddy gets us and the results are in. Record debt, record expansion of government, a less effective government, corruption, failure and disrespect throughout the planet.
There are now two groups of people running with a real chance of winning. Let's look at their education credentials or their "smarts" for those who don't like multi-syllable words:
Barack Obama - Bachelor of ARts Occidental College/Columbia University - Juris Doctor (JD) Harvard Law School
Joe Biden - Bachelor of Arts degree - University of Delaware - Juris Doctor (JD) Syracuse University
Pretty fucking impressive.
John McCain - Bachelor of Science Naval Academy - 1973 attempted graduate studies but, apparently didn't complete process
Sarah Palin - Cosmetology License 1984 (Just kidding, I think) - Bachelor of Arts Journalism - University of Idaho at Boise
Not so impressive.
If you were going to hire a CEO to run a trillion dollar company, with millions of employees and 300 million customers whose future success or failures would directly impact not only the company but the entire planet, would you hire someone with a bachelors degree? Would you even look at that resume? Hell no. There are minimum requirements for jobs with this kind of responsibility and John McCain and especially Sarah Palin are both woefully under-educated to do this job. I know there are no Constitutional requirements for education but, come on!
I am a city employee and their are minimum education requirements on every job posting. Sarah Palin might be qualified to get a job in personnel but she couldn't even apply for city manager.
We need the smartest people in the room and the republican ticket ain't got 'em.
