And Sarah Palin is no pit bull. She doesn't have the brains, heart or spirit of a pit bull. No, sadly all she is is another narrow minded, anti-intellectual, jingoistic, racist, back stabbing rabidly right wing human being.

Don't dis pit bulls by comparing them to Sarah Palin.

I find that comparison offensive to pit bulls, they are much better creatures than Palin. As far as the media take on pit bulls, it is composed of hyperbole and sensationalism. Are there bad pit bulls, sure, but there are bad dogs in any breed. If you take a pit bull and treat it with love and affection, you will be rewarded with a warm, loving, caring companion. Hell, up until pit bull hysteria set in, the AKC recommended pits that the best dog for families to own. Don't fall for everything you see in print.

So last night, as I watched Palin’s debut on the national stage, something struck me. First, of course, she was polished and poised and handling her new found celebrity with confidence. She even pulled off an ad lib that was her greatest laugh line of the night. In response to the homemade “Hockey Moms for Palin” signs that were being held aloft, she said, “I love those hockey moms. You know the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick!” (thunderous laughter and applause from the crowd)

Now let me share with you another of those headline stories from three weeks ago:

Child Taken Off Life Support After Pit Bull Attack.

This was the big news story in Alaska for several days that week. A child and her babysitter were viciously attacked by the family pet pit bull. The owner surrendered the dog, waited for the girls father to return from his deployment in Iraq, and watched as his six-year-old daughter was taken off life support after she went into an irreversibly vegetative state.

I don’t know how other Alaska residents felt about the pit bull joke, and obviously her audience loved it, but most of us here in “small town America” probably didn’t find it particularly funny.

11. haha, good point...hockey moms are also known for being vicious

I was tossed into that arena for a few years, I never have been so shocked at behavior from women, there are also probably nice hockey moms like myself, somewhere.

I didn't get the chance to see lady palin's speech, from what I heard she was hateful and nasty with no decorum, I will catch up later this evening, not sure if I want to see it after all I have heard about it.
