Listening to the radio this morning, hearing reactions to Palin's speech
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 09:33 AM by ck4829
Some of the reactions:
"Psychotic!"
"Too conservative!"
"A heartbeat away from the Presidency, and that's scary!"
"How does her being a 'hockey mom' help the American People?!"

And in the interest of balance:
"I support her because of her family!" When asked what the caller thought of her policies? "Uh..."

10. well,
in honesty i didn't hear a lot. but it was basically something along the lines of mccain threw the hail mary, and she caught it. when i heard that, i thought, she'll never make it into the end zone.

11. I've been listening to "On Point" on public radio and that's about

what I've been hearing too. People saying what good job she did, how it was negative but did what she needed to do, blah, blah, blah. It's sickening. Someone else I know said they were "Wowed by her!"

WTF is wrong with people? I think she and her speech are despicable. Extremely unstatesman-like and not the way someone who is trying to become the second most powerful person in our country - someone who is supposed to be a leader to ALL of us - should behave. She's a two-bit, over-ambitious, back-stabbing zealot who is unfit and underserving of not only being the Vice President, but I think, even Governor.

Edit: typo

12. agreed entirely
i heard a blurb and i think it was attributed to joe biden. in her speech she did not discuss:

the economy
the mortgage crisis
health insurance
the wars
the energy crisis (i think she may have touched on this by suggesting that alaska holds the answer)

etc. just blurbs and slurs. really disgusting and i am so frigging baffled how they fly this by so many people.

as an aside, watching a clip from msnbc, i think pat buchanan is in love with palin. he's acting as a member of the press and he sat there and offered the advice that the campaign should continue to keep her away from any interviews! aargh

13. If Palin or McCain avoid interviews while Obama and Biden take on all comers
it's going to be apparent that McCain/Palin aren't able to address anything other than a hand-picked crowd that's not going to ask them to defend their answers.

15. yep. and the dems should be pointing that out
at every opportunity. why aren't you asking mccain/palin these questions? oh, they won't sit for interviews, eh? if they can't handle being asked questions on the campaign trail, why would anybody think they can handle running the country?!

16. To be fair, Columbus, while somewhat conservative, has too many college graduates and students ...
... to be representative of the McCain/Palin 'base' of ignorant, knuckle-dragging bigots. Now ... down in Mean Jean's district ... well, that'd be another story.
