Courtesy of the Minneapolis City Council I talked with my City Council person, Gary Schiff, who said something that caught me off guard. In an 11 to 2 vote (eleven against Gary Schiff and Cam Gordon) our city council gave Homeland Security control over our police.
So this explains everything. Gary requests that we each call every city council person and support Gary and Cam in having hearings on these cases in which civil liberties were disregarded. Gary said he has heard many stories of civilians being physically restrained and sometimes wounded by Mpls. Police, and he is very concerned. HE CANNOT GET A HEARING ON THESE CASES IF THE MPLS CITY COUNCIL DOES NOT APPROVE. REMEMBER, THEY VOTED AGAINST GARY AND CAM. THEY WILL NEED OUR HELP IN UNDERSTANDING THE IMPORTANCE OF HOLDING HEARINGS.
Call 311 for phone numbers for reaching Mpls. City Council Commissioners.
Thanks so much.
