The "smug certainty" of the Republican party
That is how a caller on c-span put it, and it's true. In these uncertain times, they pretend to have all the answers. They are self-righteous, condescending, sarcastic, rude, and willing lie about their opponents to win. And they really do attract folks just like them to vote for them.

Repulsive.

1. That's an excellent way of putting it.
And heaven help those who stand in their way.

2. Good pick up, that. It is like selling beer or religion.
Every seller has the best beer.
Every preacher has the only truth.

And, every Republican pitchman has to lie. Or they lose!!

3. they are just justifiably proud of always putting their country first
They support the Bush tax cuts because tax cuts for rich people are just good for the whole country. The prosperity of the last 8 years are testimony to that. I think over 3 million jobs have been created in the last 7 years.

Plus, we should be proud of America. Always. Especially when they are bombing Vietnam. If we hadn't done that, we'd all be speaking Vietnamese today. They said so tonight. If not for the sacrifice of John McCain, and people like him, we would not be free.
