Evangical for Palin on MSNBC tv.

on Sarah Palin's CHOICE to keep her child.

"against the advice of many to abort that child"

more accurate quote.

10. He was asked that very question
and he stammered and stuttered something like, 'er uh well you know the societal idea that go along with raising a downs syndrome baby and I'm sure there were doctors that made the suggestion of aborting a downs syndrome fetus.. blahblahblah.'

He couldn't be specific because as is the norm for these folks, they speak out of their arse.

Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 02:50 PM by itsrobert
He back track and said it's a known fact that Doctors advise parents of expectant mothers to abort Downs babies all the time. Not specific to Sarah herself.

Also, I'm on the west coast, but have been home sick the last few days. I have a job too.

Doctors do not as a matter of course advise women to abort Down's children.

5. Doctors don't advise such things...
unless there is reason to believe the baby won't survive 'til term any way or the mother's life is in danger.

Doctor's don't go around advising abortions willy nilly.. God these liars piss me off.

The problem is that were she to become Vice President she would do plenty to hurt me and the country.

And how is discussing questions about Palin's truthiness "vicious"?

13. No doctor would advise an abortion based on Down Syndrome
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 02:51 PM by alcibiades_mystery
That's totally ludicrous. Doctors only ever advise abortion in case of serious health risk to the mother or birth defects so debilitating that the fetus will die in utero or the infant within hours/days.

24. It boggles my mind that these people seem to think lots or women
abort Down babies. I just don't believe it's that common. What this tells me is that THEY are the ones who consider having a baby with Down Syndrome a major crisis. I know two families with Down's children, and I know for a fact that a) both couples knew of the chromosomal problems before birth, and b) abortion never entered their minds.

These people are sick.

31. The speaker was an 'evangelical minister...'
(the quotations are mine because I deplore their use of the
word 'evangelical' as code for 'right-wing-fundie-bigot'
which is NOT the true definition of evangelical, but that's
another rant for another time)....

ANYWAY, the blowhard kept repeating the meme 'She was advised..'
but couldn't cite WHO or WHEN she was advised.

HE then said: "Well, its' all over the culture.."
It's the CULTURE'S problem, and these poor women keep
hearing such things, that they can't cope, and do the right thing.

I call BULLSHIT on this.... the true authority on
Sarah Palin, US magazine said she told no one but her husband
that the child had the disability. She told her children after
the baby was born. (I love using one lame ass 'expert' against another).

NOW how does some lame ass 'evangelical' get the balls to get
up on national tv, and express how she was advised to abort?

Who the hell is he, and who appointed him god?

32. Does the child truly have Down Syndrome?
The photos I have seen (at the extreme risk of pulling a Frist) do not clearly show visible Down's facial or tongue features. The hidden problems are possible congenital heart defects and upper respiratory problems, either one of which would seem to preclude taking the child to Ohio for her introduction as VP candidate.
