Bristol Palin's baby daddy is 'psyched' to be father, says his pal
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/republican_race/2008/09/02/2008-09-02_bristol_palins_baby_daddy_is_psyched_to_.html

The cold-country hockey jock who knocked up the 17-year-old daughter of Sen. John McCain's running mate is "psyched" to be a baby daddy, his pals said.

A day after 18-year-old Levi Johnston was revealed as the future father of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's grandchild, his closest friends touted him as a standup dude.

"Of course he is psyched to be a father," said Blake Weiland, 18. "I mean he loves the idea of being a father and raising a child."

Johnston, who was a hockey star at his Wasilla, Alaska, high school, has so far avoided the red-hot spotlight his extracurricular activities with Palin's daughter Bristol have garnered.

3. Give the guy a break
Bristol is HOT, she'll be a great and sexy wife, the kid will be beautiful, even if it comes out a Down Syndrome baby, and he can be psyched if he wants to be. Your comment is just mean.

6. As much as that piece reeks of happyface spin control...
...I do hope it's true, since those kids have enough to deal with right now* without adding a shotgun wedding to it.

*Though not nearly as much as they'd have to deal with if his Mom-in-law-to-be weren't state governor
and current national party "fair haired boy" (so to speak)...

9. Palin should follow Obama's advice and leave the kids alone. Like it's not hard enough
being 17 and pregnant and now you have to go to the RNC convention and have your face all over national tv.

11. The daddy would be a REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER...
...if they were located in Arizona, Texas, and other republicanized states. Alaska is still too much of a backwater white trash state who displaced the Inuit population, and LUCKY for Palin that the age of consent is 16, not 18, otherwise she'd have a REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER as the FATHER of her GRANDDAUGHTER.

18. Massachusetts is also 16, unfortunately
From the time my daughter reached 16 there was nothing I could about the older boy/man who has, in the end, destroyed her future.

She just turned 18. She didn't graduate. Isn't heading to college this week as planned. Instead she is taking an 18 day course to become a cna so she can support the lazy piece of shit who can't hold a job.

You would think I would have been able to keep her away from his influence. But alas... MA state law was not on my side.

Soon she will be married and pregnant to a controlling and abusive young man with bi-polar and an anger problem. Soon she will be knocked up.

Perhaps this could have been prevented if I had been allowed to parent my child by the state during the toughest years of her life.

21. wrong. The vast majority of states (incl.Texas and AZ) have "close in age" exceptions
where the age of consent is 17 or 18. So an 18 year old and a 17 year old having sex is not against the law.

15. Yeah, right.
Any 18 year old whose greatest love is hockey and hanging with his friends would "love the idea of being a father and raising a child."

Especially one who so emphatically stated: I don't want kids.

20. Can't wait to hear what this self described "redneck" has to say.
I wonder how much under wraps they will keep him. It doesn't sound like he is the sharpest tool in the shed. Should be intertaining to say the least..
