BIDEN PUTS - CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST BUSH - BACK ON THE TABLE!!!
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 11:31 AM by kpete
..............................

Looking to the future but with one eye on the past, Biden also promised that an Obama-Biden government would go through Bush administration data with "a fine-toothed comb" and pursue criminal charges if necessary.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation," he said, "they will be pursued, not out of vengeance, not out of retribution - out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no one, no attorney general, no president, no one is above the law."

Nancy Pelosi isn't going to do squat about it. Which makes her complicit in those crimes, in my book. Why is she ignoring these crimes? Pelosi needs to be investigated as well.

After Jan 20, a lawyer hand-picked by a Constitutional scholar will run DOJ.

And Pelosi will be totally out of excuses for keeping things off the table.

This is why it is IMPERATIVE To ensure that the congress remain democratic. While not having 60 democrats in the senate is not as important as when a repuke has stolen the presidency, we can at LEAST ensure that such investigations will NOT be impeded by Congress.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and a slew of repukes in prison by 2010...SWEET!!

They can take their time and continue with the evidence gathering there is no rush for them to file charges this year.

Once Obama and Biden are elected and sworn into office....January surprise - File all charges.

13. Hence their desperation.
They are not above trying to steal another one, even while we're watching closely.

They are not above purging voter rolls; we just have to register more new voters.

They are not above fomenting war with Russia, Pakistan or Iran...or all three...to make people flock to McCain in fear. Thank God impeachment would be put back on the table in that event...if it can be proven that they were reckless in this.

My point is they have EVERYTHING to lose, and a cornered animal is the most dangerous kind.

You are right: They are cornered and they are desperate.

Unfortunately the American public is so dumbed-down that they will believe anything they see on television or hear from the radio.

I have a sinking feeling that if the election is stolen in November we won't be able to change the results even if we have lots of good evidence.

31. there's only one problem with this
they have to win the election.

Considering the last two were stolen, I wouldn't count on it.

I'm not trying to put down the positive thinkers. I have hope, myself. But getting excited about something that might happen after they get elected is just setting ourselves up. Let's try to get them in office first, then hopefully they'll restore some justice to the horrible things that have happened in the last 8 years.

93. The only problem with that ...
...is that the Attorney General, a Bush appointee, has to decide to pursue charges. You can't lay that at the feet of the Democrats. However, there is a clear case for impeachment (which is the natural recourse when checkmated in this manner), and that we can lay down at their feet.

49. Preserving our Constitution is what I want most
I'm happy to hear this, and I truly hope it's so. Both are Constitutional men. That is what sold me on both of them.

Without the Constitution nothing else matters. If we do nothing, it only gives license for the next Coup to make fascism a reality in America. We must create safe-guards to stop what the Bush*/Cheney Administration was able to do to our country. I only wish there could be something to also force Congress to honor their Oath of Office to protect the Constitution from men like Bush*/Cheney. If not, then somehow a citizen's group can be activated to force a Congressional intervention.

My mind gets blown away when I think of the multiple crimes, the frauds, and to be nice, the mis-management that this Administration has inflicted upon all of us, this country, and the world. There are so many - that we know of. What else is hidden. Cheney and David Addington are sneaky sonofabitches. What have they hidden to be set in place to be utilized by the next Coup? Obama/Biden will need a hepa-filter more than a fine tooth comb.

Biden also promised that an Obama-Biden government would go through Bush administration data with "a fine-toothed comb" and pursue criminal charges if necessary.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation," he said, "they will be pursued, not out of vengeance, not out of retribution - out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no one, no attorney general, no president, no one is above the law."

Bush can pardon those below him,but not himself...bet he'll try though.
There must be a way around the pardons... you know civil charges, World Court, state courts?

Let's Bushie see pardons everyone, including Cheney, then steps down day before OBAMA takes office, Cheney is President and then pardons Bushie??

80. Empty Impeachophobic Rhetoric Has Always Been On The Table
Just as long as it does NOT mean actually DOING some damn thing to stop the ongoing torture and war criminality oneself.

Impeachment remains the ONLY moral, patriotic option.

Failure to demand it immediately makes one part of the problem, not the solution.

101. Skepticism is NOT cynicism. Misuse of vocabulary. But I agree 100%, it's empty rhetoric considering
considering the multiple golden opportunities-on-a-silver-platter Democrats were handed for 2 years, but they chose to do nothing.

No, actually, it's worse than that.

Pelosi & Co. cynically sat on their hands regarding the Iraq War for 2 years simply for political advantage, while American kids' blood was spilled.

Let me repeat that: American kids' blood was spilled UNOPPOSED BY DEMOCRATS simply for sheer political gain, to "not rock the boat" for 2008.

Now THAT's the real definition of "cynical."

111. Unless impeachment charges are filed NOW it'll be pardons all around
This is all just rhetoric. Kucinich has been pushing impeachment around for quite a while now and has yet to have any senator help. Also can you really trust that Obama will do anything to help? He backed off of FISA and is wishy-washy now about off shore drilling. In addition, he has voted for appropriations for the Iraq war that he so vehemently opposed. If you're going to be against something do it all the way.
All the Current administration has to do is pardon themselves before they leave office and smile into the sunset with the billions that are awaiting them from all their pals in the petrochemical and military-industrial set.

117. They can't pardon themselves if charges are brought up AFTER they leave office!
Charges will not be brought upon them until Obama and Biden are in office. I would probably have to say that Biden will most probably lead the investigation in the first place. But once charges are filed, they won't be in a position to pardon, because they are out of office at that time.
