"The Alaska state senator running an investigation of Gov. Palin says the McCain campaign is using stall tactics to prevent him from releasing his final report by Oct. 31, four days before the November election.

"It's likely to be damaging to the Governor's administration," said Senator Hollis French, a Democrat, appointed the project manager for a bi-partisan State Senate Legislative Counsel Committee investigation of claims that Palin abused her office to get the Alaska public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, fired."

1. No sh*t, and the Bushie lawyer types that were dispatched are already trying to
pull a typical Bushite "self-investigation" and put an end to the State Senate investigation....

I think it was yesterday when I first saw the news of the Bushies coming in....have to find the thread.

so quickly and so many posts that these little details seem to be slipping through.
Here's the other article I was thinking about.....

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/mccain-denies-hasty-vetting-of-palin-as-lawyers-sent-to-alaska-917024.html
McCain denies hasty vetting of Palin as lawyers sent to Alaska

The John McCain camp confirmed yesterday they had sent a "jump team" of lawyers and media communications experts to Alaska to handle the burst of potentially damaging publicity surrounding vice presidential pick Sarah Palin and her pregnant daughter, Bristol.

The dispatch of the operatives to Anchorage and also Wasilla where Mrs Palin was mayor and has a home left the impression of a campaign engaging in rapid damage control. It also gave rise to speculation that they were there to complete a vetting process that was not done properly in the face place.

Senator McCain, who will travel to St Paul, Minnesota, tomorrow to accept his nomination, denied yesterday that the normally exhaustive checking of Mrs Palin had been faulty. "The vetting process was complete and thorough and I am grateful for the results," he said in Philadelphia. Aides had said earlier that he had known about the pregnancy of 17-year-old Bristol before offering the job to Mrs Palin.

Aides are also bracing, meanwhile, for any additional collateral damage that could emerge from an ethics investigation of Mrs Palin that was ordered by a committee of the state legislature in July. She has been charged by her political foes of firing the state's former public safety commissioner because he did not sack a state trooper who is divorcing Mrs Palin's sister.

Of course the are saying that sending a "jump team" was always part of the plan....

McCain's campaign has dispatched a team of a dozen communications operatives and lawyers to Alaska.

Steve Schmidt, a senior adviser, said the campaign always planned to send a "jump team" to the eventual running mate's home state to work with the nominee's staff, help with information requests from local and national reporters, and answer questions about documents that were part of the review.

7. Nonsense
If we can't beat mccain on the issues and the only thread holding us in the race is an
Alaskan local rep firing, then we are in big trouble. I'm not putting my eggs in that basket.

8. We've got three surprises...
...coming up in October ourselves. In a normal, fair world, this would ensure a democratic victory, but the repukes own the ballot boxes and still have control over the balloting process in many states, so we need at LEAST an aggregate 62.7% of the vote to ensure a victory. Anything less than that figure, the republicans can invalidate enough votes (and increase the republican count) to ensure the repukes steal another election.

The Halloween Surprise, by the way, will be DEVASTATING. I can't wait, actually!

11. Well, they ARE big...and coordinated...
The first, of course, is the complete vilification of Palin, and the entrenchment of her crimes to be complete and absolute knowledge to the public. In short, if she's still in the race (and we anticipate it to be true), then we expect to see some legal papers, perhaps even subpoenas.

This should last a week or two, and no matter the disposition of this surprise, it will put killer scrutiny not just on Palin, but also on the campaign itself.

The second surprise, to be released shortly before the end of October, will enter the McCain realm, this one involving his wife's Cyndi's finances. Information is still being consolidated, but we expect to see enough evidence that would make the bogus Whitewater charge the Clinton's had to endure look like a parking ticket. In short, the McCain financial empire will be highly scrutinized, and in fact we are looking at legal charges that can be implied, or perhaps even put forth before the election.

The third surprise, though, is so secret that even I am not going to hint at it. The first two surprises are not so much surprises, but information released so that the republicanized media has no CHOICE but to investigate with the so called impunity they should have. But the third surprise will essentially negate McCain's Viet Nam experience as we KNOW it, and to show it as it actually HAPPENED. And the release of it on the Friday before the election will maximize the effect that it will have on the public...it will enrage Americans and Democrats, and alarm even Repukes... and will cast a pall on the entire military-industrial complex of the USA.

But I'll keep it in check for now... hopefully we may not even need to use it! But if we do, it will be as big an effect on the US since 9/11, and even more so to the political landscape.

That's all for now...watch the headlines, and keep on reading DU.
