What is the best way for Biden to attack Palin?
The Repugs have already started their "attacking Sarah Palin's lack of experience is sexist!" garbage. I'd like to think the American public is too smart to be fooled by crap like that, but who knows? Even still, I think the smart money is just letting Biden go full bore "attack dog mode" into her. Screw this polite "I like and respect you" garbage. I want him to rail on her about her lack of experience and full on neocon ideals.

I hope the right doesn't scare our guys into taking it easy on her.

26. I agree
I don't think he should temper his regular personality, as it would look condescending. But he should appear much mroe ready to take the position than she does, and that will instill confidence in the general american public.

The contrast will be striking and obvious.

21. Agreed
He needs to stick to the issues and his experience. Allow her to melt down or make herself look silly. Attacking her is not the thing to do as it will come out making him look like a bully.

8. He should be a complete gentleman
to her on a personal level, and challenge her on specific issues that will illustrate her unreadiness to lead the country. Biden will acquit himself well in that regard, I think.

9. The best way to attack Palin is to let her talk
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 08:02 AM by C_U_L8R
Ask her tons of questions, dig deep , shine a spotlight on her beliefs, make her defend her ideas.
The only way she wins is if she deceives the American public about who she truly is.
And mind you, she does that very well with all sorts of vague mamby pamby pablum.
She will play the folksy MOM but be assured this is a rightwing dominionist nutjob
with a very clear political and religious agenda.

I do believe this person's awful narrow theocratic beliefs will be McCain's downfall.

ps. It should be easy to catch her on issues she HASN'T been briefed on and prepared for.

13. Do Not Attack Her At All
The best way for Biden to go after Palin is to not go after her at all. Biden should attack McSame and watch Palin try to defend the Republican nominee. Biden should attack the Republican vision for this country - a vision Palin shares. Let the DNC and surrogates question Palin's record and qualifications.

We should not underestimate Palin in the debate. Let us not forget she participated in beauty pageants and almost won the Miss Alaska title. Seriously. Miss Teen South Carolina's abysmally incoherent response in last year's competition aside, Beauty Pageant contestants are evaluated on poise. In general, to do well they must remain cool and graceful under a lot of pressure. So, Palin will look confident and composed at the debate. Biden tends to get excited about things and shoot off his mouth. Palin could come across a lot better. And of course, she has the media sympathy factor.

Of course, the spinmeisters will be busy spinning away that she won. It will be like a tornado. But she can definitely be shown to be clueless by Joe.

15. I watched part of her debate for gov... advice to Biden.
1) She'll play the victim if she doesn't like the line of questioning.

2) She couches things to conceal issue ignorance so calling her out to be more specific will make her look bad.

3) Always answer the question and do not diverge into another subject area. Biden. You know this means you and you know why. She will call you on it and come out smelling like a rose.

19. She wants to be VP? Then she should be treated exactly the same as all
who wanted the job before her.

She can either hold her own or she can't..and people that have to be treated with kid gloves can't hold their own.

Biden need not (and better not) treat her any different than any man he would debate. Go for the juglar..leave her bleeding and gasping for life on stage.

Let the religious right lick her wounds

Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 08:29 AM by MilesColtrane
...the best way would be for him to ask her questions that she can't answer.

And, there's a WHOLE lot of those.

Biden could start with the economy, move to health care, then on to foreign policy for the coup de grace.

25. Assuming she's around long enough to merit a strategy on dealing with her...
...Biden should be a gentleman. A competent, knowlegeable, even-keeled gentleman. He should keep his cool and minimize his tendency toward gaffes. He should be concentrating on criticisms of McCain rather than just focusing on the second banana, anyway.

28. Easy. Biden's a constitutional law professor. Treat Palin like a law student
who's come to class unprepared to participate in rigorous Socratic debate. It's not a man beating up on a girl thing. It's being knowledgeable about important issues and facts.

Biden needs to stick to the issues- her false condemnation of the Bridge to Nowhere, the abuse of power within her administration, et cetera. Character assassination won't work.

33. I love Republicon hypocrisy. It is "wrong" to play the race card
Now they want to play the gender card?

And didn't they believe people have to be "tough" to lead? Oh, wait, how foolish could I be to think they actually mean anything they say. No, whatever they believe is to their advantage, forget what they said before.

Biden should make her cry. Then the media can have a blast like they did when that Democratic female candidate cried. Oh, and remember the time Hillary shed a tear?
