Besides Bush, what repubs are missing from the RNC convention???
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 12:07 AM by KelleyKramer
Anybody want to start a list?

Bush phoned it in. And its my understanding the vice president will not be there.

Rudy was bumped from his prime-time slot, did or will he speak at all?

McGramps VP pick is nowhere to be found, I guess she will have to show up eventually.

I saw lists on blogs last week of more than a few GOP senators who were not going.

Schwarzenegger was a big show last time, but is nowhere to be found at this RNC convention

Who else is missing?

--
Updated-

Karl Rove
Condoleezza Rice
Donald Rumsfeld
Alberto Gonzales
Paul Wolfowitz

--

UPDATE II

Five of these GOP senators are running in competitive re-election races and they do not want the free exposure of their Republican parties national convention...

Pat Roberts (KS)
Ted Stevens (AK)
Elizabeth Dole (NC)
Gordon Smith (OR)
Susan Collins (ME)
Larry Craig (ID)
Chuck Hagel (NE)
Wayne Allard (CO)

15. Do you mean Sen Gordon Smith r OR ?
He's having an especially tough campain to keep his job.
His strategy seems to be to hope Oregonians forget that he's an R.
Never mentions his party affiliation in public.

Not likely to show at GOP convention.

23. Kay Bailey? You got a source for that?

Its sounds plausible, she got nixed for the token VP slot.

13. Wow. What about Colin Powell ?

Most of the convention lists i've seen were either outdated or the next days schedule was all 'pending'

21. Of the above list, nearly all are either embroiled in a huge scandal
Or are struggling in their re-election campaign. Or both.

20. I'm thinking of their Guiding Philosopher....
Why no keynote speech by Grover Norquist (could it be that quote about "drowning in a bathtub")? No Rumsfeld as well as no Cheney, both of whom learned at his feet during the Nixon administration and got no props or speaking slots in exchange for over 30 years of plotting. GHWB-a living link to the history of the GOP from his father's coup attempt against FDR, through nazi collaboration, past his ties to the JFK assasination, through his direction of the Iran Contra scandals all the way through watching his son commit treason and war crimes in a sick Oedipal attempt to surpass him...If one man in America represents more fully the contributions of the GOP to America I couldn't guess who. Unless they had delivered the stuffed, preserved, body of Ronald Reagan who could more fairly represent the current GOP...addled yet cocksure and mouthy in life and and now both strangely silent?
