2. From the way he words it, he's saying that repukes aren't Americane, anyway:
"I pledge that tomorrow night, and if necessary throughout our convention, we will act as Americans, not as Republicans," McCain told reporters.

Or, at least they don't ACT like Americans most of the time. Now they're going to try to act like Americans. At least through the convention, but only if necessary.

Mighty nice of them, don't you think?
