Distancing himself from the get go.
From Meet The Press earlier. I was rewatching and caught it this time.

1. You sort of have to feel bad for the guy
He committed political suicide. He distanced himself from the Democrats and starting being all buddy-buddy with McCain trying to get the VP, and then McCain turns around and slaps him in the face by choosing Palin. Lieberman really has nothing left for him, because the Democrats certainly don't want him back and the Republicans have hardly any use for him.

2. Nah, I don't feel bad
Instead, I'm going to do everything I can to help elect Ned Lamont defeat Lieberman in 2012.

10. Sorry, but I have no sympathy for him.
He's The Silly Little Man and he just keeps getting sillier. In his political whoredom, he has brought this on himself and will reap the bitter fruit of his actions. After November, he will be separated from the caucus, lose his chairmanships, lose his seniority, lose the office space that goes with the seniority and generally be an outcast in Washington, with no real clout and no usefulness to the people of his state.

He should retire, take advantage of his dual citizenship and move to Israel and spend the rest of his days drinking tea and eating Oranges on his veranda, being slowly forgotten over here. Perhaps his friends in Israel can figure out something for him to do, because he has outlived his use-by date in the US.

No one ever truly trusts a turncoat. They just use them and put them well aside.

6. Of course he doesn't know her.
He's been up McMansion's butt 24/7 for the last year, so when could he have possibly met her? McPander doesn't know her either.

Hope you enjoyed your 15 minutes, Joementum, 'cause the curtain's coming down on your little sideshow!

12. Funny, that's what Kay Bailey Hutchison said too!
She also said that she never met her or talked to her and this is right after she regurgitated all these talking points. It was one hell of a way to undercut the point of her appearance on the news.
