We were talking about Palin's experience on my veterans' board -- check this out:
The freeper I usually argue with posted this about her experience:

Sarah Palin has been a city Mayor.

She is currently the Governor of Alaska

She is currently the Commander in Chief of the Alaska National Guard.

Certainly, more experience than Senator for a (147) Day Barack Obama.

Unbelievable!!

1. Sometimes, when I adjust my medications just right,
I feel like the Queen of Bulgaria.

Does that make me experienced in the ways of the monarchy?

According to John McCain, I guess it does.

Hail ME!

9. Well, I used to live next door to a Japanese lady, so I assume I could make sticky rice balls
without using a recipe, if anyone ever asked me to. Can I borrow some of your meds? Just a couple days' worth?

10. Kneel, peasant,
but please don't attack my harbors when I'm not looking. If I have harbors. I don't know if I do. I'll have to check.

Let me check with my Royal Pill-Keeper. We may have extras, if that cheap floozy hasn't already taken them herself, the unworthy mongrel.

Aren't rice balls the smallest part of the rice?

11. I should think the Queen of Bulgaria should be able to order people to DIG her some harbors
if the notion strikes her -- just a thought.

My cooking is dangerous enough -- I wouldn't assay any sort of weapons-thing. Ever.

Rice balls actually involve a lot of very tiny Minueting and Gavotting, but I've never been to one personally. But one does hear stories. You know.

14. Interesting
So you are a Student Of The Royal Dance, eh?

Her Majesty (that's me) just might have an opening on her staff for a Royal Stick Of Dance. It doesn't pay well - all the rice balls you can eat - but it does have nice benefits: dental, a parking space (covered), and all the Xanax you can take without forgetting to breathe. Perhaps you could oversee the Digging Of The Harbors if it turns out that we don't have any.

Perhaps we can get together over the Royal Tea - a lovely thing involving very dark brown mushrooms and strudel - and chat a bit about your career plans?

16. Actually not so good at dance itself, but good at WATCHING dance, if you need royal dances watched
for some reason. My skill at watching Russian ballet on DVD would readily transfer to watching your Highness's Royal troupe, I'm sure. I can write favorable reviews for distribution to the peasants. The ones who can read. Or have time to.

Supervising the diggers of your harbors (if it turns out you don't have any, or want more, or something) would be right in line with my experience, since I used to live in a state that was next door to a state that had a harbor. (You would want a bridge at the mouth of the harbor, I suppose -- we'd have to call it The Roan Bridge or The Palomino Bridge or something, since the name "Bay Bridge" is already taken.)

The benefits sound wonderful. I don't really want you to raise taxes on the peasants just to provide my benefits and salary.....but if you need to tax them a great deal more in order to put me in an income bracket that pays no taxes at all....well... please do.

Xanax? Do you and Laura order your supplies from the same Mexican doctor? And would you mind e-mailing me his addy? I'd hate to impinge on your supply.

Please don't invite me to a Royal Tea just yet -- my daytime sign-out privileges got a little suspended when I tried to get one of the orderlies to do nude Tai Chi with me. later....IH.

19. Summoning the Dwarf
Since you have shown yourself to be a highly-tuned and astute student of Royal Life, I have sent word for the Dwarf of Opiates to appear before me with his sack empty. We shall fill it with the new Vicodin, the Extra-Strength (750 mg.), and dispatch it to you post-haste. Or pre-haste. Whichever is cheaper.

Since my experience in watching dance is limited to waking up with my mouth hanging open, a most unfortunate look for me, we shall certainly amend your title to include Dance-Watching among your duties. Not only will you be limited to DVDs, but we in Bulgaria, enjoying a particularly prosperous time in our storied history, can afford A, B, C, E, F, G, H, I, J and K. I trust this meets with your approval.

As for distributing the reviews to the peasants, that will not be necessary. We have not yet discovered paper.

Our Xanax and Vicodin supplies come from a fine gentleman in South Korea. Or Bali. Somewhere to the right. Past Russia. We have a long and pleasant business history, begun - how DID you know! - when Dear Laura made her first visit to our humble country, showing me, in the process, how to sleep with my eyes open. She's such a talent. She will be sorely missed. Maybe. Who were we talking about?

Consider yourself invited whenever your day trip privileges are reinstated. I understand only too well the power of the Tai Chi - another dance, don't you know? - and how irresistible it can be. It is indeed unfortunate that not everyone understands that such art must be celebrated in our most natural state.

Until then, I remain

Regally and nakedly yours,

Queen

24. Eagerly anticipating Arrival of the Ambassadorial Dwarf
and his burdens of good things of high quality from East of the Sun, West of Sarah Palin.

I am a bit curious as to why Laura would teach you the secret of sleeping with your eyes open, but she never bothered to teach Vice-President Cheney. Perhaps she is less fond of him -- perhaps she is treated far better by the Queen of Bulgaria than she is by the Prince of Darkness. Perhaps he was too deaf to hear what she said, or perhaps he assumed her babbling contained no information worth listening to. His loss. I'm sure he has no idea what an Utter Idiot he looks, sleeping soundly through a Cabinet meeting.

Such fine entertainment is available under your munificent auspices, and I will be delighted to write reviews for the Royal Archive (to be secreted in your yet-to-be-funded Royal Library).

I will also volunteer as a tester for suitability of roadside stone walls for sitting upon to view the passing Parades and Entertainments, Pageants and Pomp you no doubt provide for the people to keep them from thinking about their lot. I will also volunteer to clean up the effluvia left by the elephants etc. since I know Secrets of Composting, and your Royal Gardeners will soon make your Royal Gardens the envy of the world. I mean, as soon as I can get out again.

I agree that the peasants are best protected from learning to read.
Nothing but trouble would ensue.

Looking forward to tea,

IH

P.S. -- Do you happen to know how the Dwarf of Most Excellent Opiates feels about nude Tai Chi?

21. You're forgiven, commoner;
in Bulgaria, I curtsey to myself every day. The peasants simply fall over, the intricacies of a good curtsey escaping them due to their iron-poor diet.

You wanna co-supervise the guys excavating the QoB's new harbors?
You could ask her if she could find a job for you.
The benefits are good.
You could sort of keep an eye on things until they let me out again.

7. He forgot how being mother of soldier qualifies her to lead our armed forces. . .
Ah, how I wish my Mother had lived to see this day, when her two veteran sons would make her twice as qualified to run the military as the presumptive Republican VP. Of course, even dead she has twice as much on the ball as the presumptive Republican presidential candidate, and showed far better judgment on her worst days than he does on his best, but then, when the bar's set so low it's not difficult to get over.

15. I'll see you're mayor card
and raise you 8 years in the Illinois state legislature, representing more people than in that small town. (I don't know about Alaska, but California has only 2 kinds of places: cities and unincorporated areas. Doesn't matter how big or small, you get incorporated as a city. My own city has about 60,000 people, or 10X what Palin had when she was mayor. We have a part-time mayor.)

But Obama taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago (one of the top ten in the country, according to US News and World Report), while Palin doesn't seem to clear on what the Constitution says ("What does the vice-president do all day?")

extreme right wing and will satisfy the fundie base, but certainly Democrats and Independents won't be interested in voting for her so I'm not sure who McCain thinks will want her? Just being a woman isn't going to do it!

And the town she was mayor of only had a few more people living in it than the High School I went to (very large school) had students. Was the Principal of my high school qualified to be President?
