1. It looks like chimpy and mcpow are heading to the coast to stand on some
rubble.

Mcpow may accept the nomination from a disaster zone. For real.

Staying in the home state...trying to make sure people have what they need...trying to help as best I could...doing what I could...even if it was just being there, in state

5. They know. That's why all the early announcements on preparations
trying to erase Katrina from memory

and they'll spin and exploit...

and I'm just so sick at my tummy about it all...

The only reason the RNC would even consider postponing the convention is because of the news coverage...but the spin is concern.

Putting the possibility out there to see how it floats with people....

11. They can't spin that one
Katrina is etched in people's brains and not just American people. The world watched in shock.

CSpan this morning had a section asking whether the Rethugs should postpone the convention.

Drill, drill drill won't sound too good this week.
One caller said Gustav is NEAR and the election is NEAR -Never Elect Another Republican!!

14. Many Were Taking A Pass Anyway...
It sure is taking boooshie off the hook. My only hope is that the storm heads toward his chicken ranch and dumps all over him.

Many candidates are seeing a different storm headed their way...an electoral tsunami and want to stay as far away from this gathering as possible. Many have been told they are on their own...what upside is there for them to show? Most are gonna be running away from Commander Huff'nPuff...not wanting a photo op with him.

Cheers...

15. Breaking - Rick Perry won't attend the convention
Bobby Jindal won't attend the convention. The Rethugs are scared shitless.
Three years later a hurricane has come home to roost on those evil people who led NOLA drown.

They will not postpone the convention according to Steve whoever on GEMSNBC. They may turn the convention hall into a relief center.

17. They Can't Cancel...
There's too much money involved here...watching the Mayor of St. Paul, you can see there's a lot of pressure from the city and state to make sure this show goes on. Millions in hotel and "entertainment" dollars along with all the expenses by the corporate media...and you know how Repugnicans are with money...they would rather lose wars than money.

Yesterday, Jindal looked like Bambi in the headlights...maybe he'll try to exorcize the storm away. It'll be interesting how he handles this situation because his political life depends on it.

So no Bob Perry? Richard Scaiffe? Morton Blackwell? It just won't be a party without them :sarcasm:

So when do we start printing the "God Hates Repugnicans" bumper stickers?

Dobsons prayed for rain to wash out the Democratic Party Convention and the US gets two hurricanes.
