It is about ISSUES people. Calling Governor Palin a slut is wrong

There is enough space between her politics, and ours. We can concentrate on ISSUES.

Her stance on abortion for example does not make her a slut... the least insulting word I have read today, by the way. It makes her misguided in my view. It makes her dangerous for my rights as a woman... but not a slut

She and I disagree about global warming. I happen to live in the reality based community where science is clear on this, but then again she is a creationist, hence her lack of belief in Global Warming makes sense. This makes her highly unquialified to seat one heart beat from the presidency in the twenty first century, and a liberal democracy. but I will not call her a slut.

So stop it will yah? You are not helping. Argue on the ISSUES... and stay away from the highly explosive and derogatory language that you would scream if used against oh I don't know Governor Sibelious.

It's the difference between "author" and "speaker."

The author was suggesting that many Republicans won't look at Palin as anything but a "slutty librarian" (presumably because she's pretty and wears glasses). That's not the same as calling her a slut.

I don't think the broad brush implication is justified, although I totally agree with the statement.
