3. I wonder if she's even the actual choice
or merely a temporary diversion away from the powerful speech Obama gave last night - and the success of the Democratic convention in general?

her withdrawing her name until this thread and now i'm totally intrigued by the possibility.

12. silly mois. Hadn't considered that.
as a distraction, much like the bimbo from Florida, she has a couple of good points, and for a hetero like mois, cracker crumbs would not not distract my close inspection of and appreciation of the lower extremities. But, I am an admitted ogler and lover of all things attractive.

-Bush- hell, McCAIN promised that their team would have a message, a major distraction from the incredible four day event that just finished a mile high, and continued to rise across the country.

If this young, gun toting, ultra-religious, flat-earther, creationist is simply a distraction, then, I bow my head to Karl Rove and his deviant methods of distraction and magical misdirection. On second thought, her selection was brilliant. She is so unprepared, so ethically challenged, so incapable of taking office, combined with today's timing, it has to be a ruse. That makes complete sense.

20. I still LOVE what somebody else said on another site...
..."And while my lust for your sharp librarian looks may be a sexist invalidation of all that you've accomplished professionally, I really don't have to worry. Because you haven't really accomplished anything professionally"...

that about sums it all up and ties it with a nice tidy bow, too...

25. My tinfoil theory
She's been put in place specifically for the convention,

1. Putting her in undercuts the problem they had with Romney. Romney was on record as supporting the war, but believing his service-age sons are serving their country by getting him elected. Once Biden was announced, they could no longer go with Romney, since Beau Biden is on his way back to Iraq. Palin has a son also on his way to Iraq (leaving on September 11, how Rovian).

2. After the convention, where the Religious Troglodytes will all gather together and be on record singing McCain's praises for choosing one of them, something will come out, and she will have to drop out in such a way that McCain can say, "Well, I tried to give you a Christian; now we'll have to go with either the Mormon (Romney) or the Jew (Lieberman).

9. Very, Very soon.... but they'll repeat her nomination over and over
They will be able to say they nominated a woman. They will say she had to leave for the sake of 'her' Downs Syndrome child.... she will do whatever is asked of her but her children and family come first... She has been catapulted for 2012 or 2016.

But then I am a true pessimist when it comes to Rovian Republicanism.

15. With different media, you may be right. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the media
are still claiming her qualities, ignoring the scandals and flip-flops already attached to her, to say nothing about her inexperience (A friend who hates Condi was telling me she makes her looked qualified).

18. Will the real Sarah Palin please stand up?
Sarah Palin has so far slipped under the radar of complete media scrutiny. Hopefully those who know how to dig up these things will find out what travesty has occurred. For the sake of the American people this ploy must be exposed.

This woman is a Christian Soldier, carefully groomed from high school to her stint at the University of Idaho. She belongs to the Feminist For Life organization(See motherjones.com), and is an advocate for "Creation Science" in public schools. Her husband has been a frequent sit in at various official state meetings and is an employee of BP, a company that has a heavy interest in Alaskan government largess.

Senator McCain has met her for a total of 8 hours and she gets the VP over more deserving members of his party. His head has again been turned by a beauty queen and ego massage. This is a problem he can handle by therapy, but the American people do not have to catch his illness. Sy Hersch please help us out.
