Or is the party nominee the titular head of the party
(therefore Obama has just replaced him)?

Probably C-Span got their wires crossed and meant to say former presidential candidate or something like that.

I don't know that is a rule, but I think it is traditional. That job is probably exhausting.

5. No, it isn't.
Terry MacAuliffe served for at least two. The incoming President, however, usually replaces the DNC chair with someone of his preference.

Plus, I think we all know Dr. Dean is probably going to be HHS Sec'y or Health Czar of some kind in an Obama administration.
