On the lighter side -- why do they always point ?
Has anybody else ever wondered about this ? Why is it when two politicians get on stage they always end up pointing at us ? They always do it !

I suppose they are saying something like:

"Look over there, Barack ! You see old Bob Snodberg back there on the 85th row ? He's the one who sent us that $20 check last week. And lookee ! There's Annie Blowhard in the 55th row. You remember how she waved at us in Chicago ? And she's still wearing that same dress."

1. They've all been told it makes them look like leaders, in control of
the situation.

Sometimes it does. Often it doesn't.

6. I think the first time I noticed it was
Ronald Reagan. Any time he could get another person on a stage with him, he'd start pointing all over the place. I think it's rude, unless they point to the back of the stage where all of us little people can see and share the experience with them.

Sometimes I get the idea they are laughing at us.

2. If they are anything like Joe Montana
In the last 49er VS Bengal SB (Both were thrilling games to watch!), 49ers offense has just re-taken possession of the ball, down by 4 with about 2:30 left in game. They are loosely huddled waiting for the networks to return from commercial. Joe, as reported by Randy Cross, center, points into the crowd and says something to the affect of, "Hey, check out section 350, row 5. See that lady? She's hot, huh?". Cross went onto mention that at that time, they knew they would win.

7. Tell me more about this Annie woman. She sounds interesting.
Subliminally, it shows that they're pointing toward the future. It's iconic, so deal with it.
