Obama, McCain neck and neck -- CNN/Time . . .
Obama, McCain neck and neck Burt Hubbard
Wed Aug 27, 6:27 PM ET

A new CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corp. Poll shows Democrat Barack Obama and John McCain neck and neck through the first two days of the convention. However, Obama has leads in three other swing states, the poll found.

The poll released today showed that McCain leads Obama in Colorado 47 percent to 46 percent, but the results are well wihin the poll's margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points. The poll surveyed 670 registered voters between Aug. 24 and Aug. 26.

The poll found Obama led McCain 49 percent to 44 percent in Nevada and 53 percent to 40 percent in New Mexico. CNN Time also polled voters in Pennsylvania, showing Obama with a 48 percent to 43 percent lead. More than 600 registered voters were polled in all three states with the same margin of error.

The poll also separately asked voters' choices if Ralph Nader and Bob Barr were included. In Colorado, Nader was at 7 percent, Barr at 3 percent, leaving 43 percent support for McCain and 42 percent for Obama.

In Nevada, the two candidates created a dead heat between McCain and Obama. Each candidate got 41 percent support with Barr at 5 percent and Nader at 6 percent.

In New Mexico, Nader was supported by 8 percent of those polled with Barr getting no support. Obama still had a lead of 50 percent to 36 percent.

2. WHO ARE THEY POLLING?
Neck in neck, my foot!

I simply DO NOT BELIEVE THIS AT ALL!

(If this is a set up to steal another election....I'm going to be beside myself with anger. Maybe we need election monitors like they use in third world countries.)

4. Calm down
The national numbers mean nothing.

That Obama is leading in Nevada is GREAT news because Nevada has been essentially tied in most polls. New Mexico looks really good for Obama and Pennsylvania looks good.

Colorado is tied, which is OK.

9. memo to cnn news team members--
we need to generate excitement in this election between obama and mc cain. we feel the best way to generate viewership is to report that the race for the president is going to be an exciting "race to the finish".

we need to "hammer this home" because ad revenues depend on viewership.
