I don't think I'd go around saying McCain has "earned" anything, especially when he hasn't shown up for his day job in several months. See, the way it works in the real world is that you don't draw a big fat paycheck if you don't at least go to the office and look like you're doing your job. Working Americans understand that, and think of it as "earning" something. Flying around the country for free on your wife's corporate jet doesn't look like "earning" anything.
