Kucinich's Speech Edited By Obama Team....
http://blog.cleveland.com/openers/2008/08/dennis_kucinich_gets_edited.html

"DENVER -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama used his editing pen on Cleveland Congressman Dennis Kucinich's speech Tuesday night, according to The Hill, a Washington, D.C., newspaper.

The Obama campaign has been looking closely at speeches during the convention, trying to keep them on message. The campaign struck this line, addressing Republicans, from Kucinich's speech:

"They're asking for another four years -- in a just world, they'd get 10 to 20.""

As some of you may know, I'm not a big fan of Moonbeam McCrazyPants for President. But daaayum that was a nice line that got edited out.

I can see why the Obama team took it out, though.

46. "...In a just world they'd get 20 to life" -- YES!

Too bad the campaign would have removed the line no matter what. The Dems aren't interested in prosecuting the criminals in the WH because it would lead back to too many criminals in Congress -- in both parties.

7. I really resent Kucinich being portrayed as an airy-faerie space cadet.
The man speaks truth. He doesn't just talk the talk; he walks the walk.

And describing him as "Moonbeam McCrazyPants" does a great diservice to all of us who want integrity in our government.

21. No seriously - he talks to aliens....
http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2007/10/kucinich_had_a_ufo_encounter_according_to_friend_shirley_maclaine.php

"In Shirley MacLaine's new book, the actress and longtime friend of Dennis Kucinich makes an interesting claim: During a visit to her home in Washington state, Kucinich said he saw a UFO and heard messages from it.

"Dennis found his encounter extremely moving," MacLaine writes. "The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him.

"It hovered, soundless, for 10 minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind." "

Edited on Wed Aug-27-08 04:31 PM by 1monster
Some people talk to their animals and plants.

Some BRAVE and DELUDED people even try to talk to their children.

It doesn't make them crazy or out of touch with reality.

Just perhaps overly hopeful and optimistic.

17. Probably not the best line for a convention speach.. much better as a "road" speach.
This is about unity, dems, happy feelings, and Obama has been about change and unity.. It doesn't help bring pissed off pugs and independents in by calling their former picks criminals during the convention.... but that was a great line.
