ihatehimsomuch.com : apparently, it's always up to the woman to make a marriage work
i saw this on a big billboard in my neighborhood, and i thought immediately - 'it's a site that put the onus on women to make a marriage work' and i wasn't wrong.

i figured it was a religous based thing. turns out it's some BS sponored by the gov't - HHS. there maybe more, feel free to dig deeper.

also, i noticed there isn't a corresponding site putting the resposibility on the man. :eyes:

2. Just for giggles I typed in 'ihatehersomuch.com' and guess what
the domain name is for sale, but does offer a variety of divorce lawyers and ideas.
So nice to see our tax dollars going for a site to keep women subservient.

10. Just for giggles, I tried it. It's a site with a voodoo doll of a guy in a tux
and when you click on various pins on him you get issues associated with that part of the body.

What's with the voodoo groom? IHateHimSoMuch.com is part of a You&Me.WE campaign to promote healthy marriage. We're using humor to get people to think about what kind of marriage they want – and what skills are required to have that type of marriage.

All marriages are not alike. Healthy marriages are more rewarding, but they don’t just happen. Healthy marriages require commitment, effort and relationship skills.

The vast majority of Americans of all backgrounds want long-lasting, happy marriages for themselves and for their children. Our campaign aims to highlight what you can do to achieve that.

It's from some organization called www.youandmewe.org

Meh.

5. No one should stay in a relationship...
that's actually unworkable, abusive or co-dependent. But if you're waiting for the man to figure out how to make the relationship work, you'll be waiting a loooooong time.

11. Men love unconditionally and will do whatever they...
know how to do to make women happy, but when women are not explicit about what will make them happy, men may not know what to do. They're not withholding, they just don't know.
I'm really talking about how we are wired differently, with different strengths. I'm not talking about laziness or indifference.

7. Some marriages are just not worth saving.
Edited on Wed Aug-27-08 08:25 AM by fasttense
I divorced my first husband in less than 2 years. Caught him cheating on me and that was it for me. I am not going to live a life never knowing if my husband is being faithful to me.

I married again four years later and have remained married for over 25 years.

Sometimes you just have to call it quits.

9. At the very least it assumes the woman

is going to take responsibility for trying to get the marriage back on track or get the couple into therapy.
Edit: I think its true that women usually are the emotional housekeepers. I'm not saying that's the way it should be, but that's the way it is.
