I swear Ohio has some of the dumbest people in the world.
Ohio is so economically stressed I can't believe Obama does not have a huge lead.
I even ask young people wherever I go...working minimum wage jobs and the majority don't care about voting.

1. We leave the state when we have educations.
That's where we go.

2. That does depend on where you are...
The big cities tend to be liberal...

Out in the countryside, it's a much different story.

4. You're right....
Most cities in Ohio are liberal, whereas rural areas are far right wing nuts.

8. Here in Columbus metro I seriously have never seen a McCain sticker
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 07:32 PM by Neo
and only one McCain yard sign. Perhaps the McCain supporters are simply too embarrassed to admit their allegiance. They got tired of all the ridicule and point-and-laughs from their W sticker on their SUV.

Economically stressed is right. On Forbes list of fastest dying cities, 4 are Ohio cities.

5. AARP magazine discussion board on Obamas

We need to protest... AARP simply cannot poop on so many of its members with this trash.

11. A photo caption at this site reads "Michelle Hussein." These people are nuts!
AARP needs to be broadcast for the bigoted organization it is!

16. Not all the messages on that forum are right wing trash talk
I just joined, used the "report" feature, and cited violations of the terms of service against that poster and all other posters on that thread that used defamatory, racist terms. According the the terms of service all those people violated the rules. Part of the process over there is to request banning the posters. Hopefully the admins will do so.

6. Nah. The dumbest people in the world are surely in Arizona...
-The state that votes Republican almost all the time.

-The state that elected and re-elected McCain and Bush several times (legitimately)

-The state that is 49th out of 50 in public school funding (50 is post-Katrina Louisiana)

-The state where I've never seen more Hummers and SUVs in an urban area in my life.

-The state where people think most prisoners are black, Latino and Native American, despite the fact that statistics show most prisoners and felons here are white.

-The state whose governor refused to recognize MLK Day as a holiday in the late 1980s.

-The state where absolutely no thought is given to the intensifying heat and humidity and the simultaneous draining of the Colorado River basin.

-The state where guys with long hair is apparently a problem for many (wasn't that like 40 years ago?)

13. Ohio has been the stepping stone for the
most of the corruption from this administration. People in Ohio really need to wake up. Sorry if you feel offended but I've been doing my homework and the majority of people I speak with are either not voting or really don't care.

17. Her profile says she's an Ohioan.
Why take offense. I'm an Ohioan and I see it too. We're one of the hardest hit states with job loss and people here will still vote against their own best interest.

18. I lived in OH when I was in H.S. I hadn't been in school a week there
when some kid came up to me in the hall shilling for Jesus, interrogating me about the state of my soul. I had just moved from UT which was another planet entirely when it came to religion, but OH freaked me out. Then a classmate of mine invited me to her church Wednesday night spaghetti supper and it turned out you had to sit through a two hour fundie church service, complete with hands raised high, shouting, and the coming forward of weeping masses to be saved. My jaw hit the floor (I was raised stodgy Presbyterian, and nominally at that) and I was SERIOUSLY freaked out seeing such bizarre behavior in church.

Needless to say, the spaghetti was necessary to settle my nerves and help return my emotional state to some semblance of normalcy.

Yeah. I GET Ohio.
