Why is Chris Matthews' political roundtable in the middle of a protest zone?
The executive producers establish the set and delegate the logistics.
This is an obvious attempt to denigrate the Democrats, as MSRNC could have erected their stage in any location, and secured their studio.

7. I am not criticizing the protesters! I am making the point that if Matthews...
...was in the middle of the Repugnant National Convention and a protest erupted, the executive producers of MSNBC would immediately *throw to a commercial break* and make attempts to reset.

I'm also free to point out that Alex Jones is a nutball 9/11 truther. I don't see anyone taking away his megaphone.

20. I hope you got that cleared up with yourself.
Because I was never debating the right to free speech.

Just because you may like Alex Jones doesn't mean that if someone doesn't they are trying to deny him free speech...

11. The protesters are setting up around them, they didn't set up in the midst
of the protesters. The 50 or so PUMAs are surrounding Tweety so they can look BIGGER on TV than they are in the real world.

26. I think you've got it.
Did you ever notice how the cameras always focus on a small group of RW protesters when there are hundreds of legitimate delegates who they could be filming or interviewing?

In 2003, just before Bush* invaded Iraq, I attended a candlelight vigil, protesting the upcoming invasion, in my small town. I was impressed and amazed at the turnout, since I live in a very red district. I lost count at 75, in the group I attended, and there was another group, of at least as many, at another site.:-)

We eventually joined together, carrying our lighted candles, and walked silently through the main street of town. I thought, at the time, what a lovely sight that this was, and wished that the local paper was there to cover it. But they did, a small blurb in the news, but the one pic that they saw fit to print was the lone "support the troops" nutcase who attended.:-(

For all I know, he's still there, standing in traffic in the middle of town with his sign. He stands next to traffic, encouraging cars to honk for him. I guess he considers this to be his job and I haven't heard that he's been run down... yet. :eyes:

19. Because Tweety YEARNS-THIRSTS for any kind of yelling that he can believe is PRO-him
He is an ego maniac. He THIRSTS for the limelight. Since he can't have it as a politician, he loves venues that, back in the back tiny part of his tiny brain, he can make believe it's FOR HIM!1 That's why he loves taking his circus to college campuses, where the young little, starstruck fools can yell on camera.

22. Knowing the area, I think they had to seek out MSNBC instead of MSNBC being in the midst of protests
Union Station is in way lower downtown. Most of the protest marches started up in front of Denver's City & County courthouse building up at the top of the 16th St. mall. Unions Station is way at the bottom.

I saw Jones interviewed on radio this morning - his live video feed. He said they were starting their protest in front of the City & County building. So, in defense of MSNBC, if these are Jones folks, they had to seek out MSNBC.

Ive been out of the house midday. I left when Jones and his staff were going to get some lunch. But this is how it all seems to me. And yes it's noisy just like last night.
