If you need a little grounding after the fun of last evening - listen to Democracy Now.
There some voices who are not inside for various reasons - Cynthis McKinney for one. Listen to the interview with Rick McCarther from Harpers about his new book.

Hear about Obama supporting Leiberman over LaMont. Is LaMont speaking this week?

And when does Dennis Kucinich appear on the podium?

Not to be a spoil sport, but there must be a few people like myself (not a Hilary supporter) (and a very wary Obama supporter) who can get carried away like everyone else with the excitement inside and who need to sober up and be reminded of the real issues. I am sobering fast watching Democracy Now outside the Convention Hall. Good stuff, as usual.

As someone who thought of myself as an American and has been accused of being a Progressive, I need to be sobered up because of what I think we face with Obama and Biden - continuation of the inhuman perpetuation of war - a fear I hold that Obama and Biden will pursue or allow to continue even while we know that it is a corporate scam, not a real war.

I will listen to the messages from inside, but where we're at is really outside - a country in trouble and for me, in pain, because of doubts about leaders who don't distinguish themselves from Republicans, especially on issues relating to corporations and the power of those who stride the middle between the parties who the corporations love.

I'm also not a forgiving person when it comes to leaders who dump plenty of words on us then go vote with the corporations.

Watch DN for a reality check.

1. I noticed they spent less that 3 seconds on the fact that Biden
has admitted he was wrong. They could be stirring it up, too.

I think with Obama, this illegal occupation in Iraq will end.

And Kucinich is supposed to speak tonight:

6. Thanks. What a gracious man he is. Think I'll say he's a gracious saint figure.
The only problem is the masses of Dems haven't figured it out yet, while they obsess about NOT ROCKING THE BOAT.

3. I don't know how old you are
but I can guarantee you that no candidate is perfect.

Many people are saying that the next president will face problems as serious as those FDR faced when FDR took office. Those were terrible times indeed. Hard for a young person to even imagine.
