2. What would lead you to wonder this? I'm not doubting, just curious.
I have no idea. I have heard, however, that there is no "Man seeking Man" or "Woman seeking Woman" option when using eHarmony. I don't know this is correct, as I've never used their service.

13. I read somewhere (possibly in DU) that there are
no gay or lesbian applications. I was just curious about the selling of information since there seems to be no limit to the fundies respect for others.

18. I think I read that, too.
If that is true, it looks bad on the company.

22. It must be nice to be able to be so choosy
When I ran my business I really didn't have the margin of error to worry about my customers sexual persuasion or color, etc. Accent or no, their money was still green.

His "Dr" is a doctor of divinity. So chances are good the answer is yes.

6. He's a DOBSON RW nutbag.
Moving away from FOTF or not, the rhetoric still holds true on e-Harmony: Heteros only, preferrably Christian.

7. He's a well known Christian Falangist. The worst of the worst.
Having your info sold will be the LEAST of your worries if he matches you up with one of his Thrill Kill Cultists.

I took a quick look at the profile thingy and realized it was not a good fit for me.

eHarmony is notorious for refusing to match GLBT folks, non-Christians, etc...

21. Seems that way, but . . .
. . . I'm white, and half of my eHarmony matches were African-Americans.

I wouldn't think interracial dating would fly in FundieLand, but I could be wrong.

23. All you liberal women want to run off with black guys...
Could be that's one of the ways they profile people at match.com.

:yoiks:

Most likely you have a "black" name. My son has a "black" name, and so does one of my friends. Many businesses look up the demographics of a zip code and try to guess the race of people by their names. It's especially apparent in political mailings. My wife has a Hispanic name and I have a white name. A lot of the Democratic party mailings overlap, but some of the Republican party mailings are astonishingly transparent -- my wife gets mailings trying to appeal to the perceived conservative streak of Hispanic Catholics, and I get mailings directed to those fossilized white Republicans who secretly believe bad schools and high crime rates are an inherent property of Hispanic culture.
