CNN did not televise Pelosi
I was watching the coverage initially on both PBS and CNN.

While Pelosi was speaking on PBS, CNN had a panel discussion. A small banner underneath announced "Pelosi Speaking Now".

I could not find any coverage on NBC/CBS/ABC.

The attempts by MSM to sabotage the Democrat candidate are obscene.

1. MSNBC missed Jesse Jackson Jr
They were so consumed with listening to themselves talk they missed one hell of a speech.

3. And that was a damn shame, his speech was great!
Pelosi's delevery was not so good. She seemed to be poorly prepared.

2. And now the MSM is pushing "Dems aren't attacking" memo. If they had listened to Pelosi's
speech instead of flapping gums & blowing hot air, they would have actually heard Speaker Pelosi ripping into Bush & McCain.

Thank god for CSPAN is all I can say.

6. The Joke Of Their Coverage
I'm sooooooo sick of John King's stupid map...and the endless circle jerk of pundits and bobbleheads interviewing other pundits and bobbleheads. I didn't tune in to hear the same claptrap from the same people who cheerlead us into a war for profit or protected this regime from its endless lies (they still can't even call boooosh the pyschopathic liar he is) and abuses and scandals that have turned this country into a financial and political cesspool.

Kudos to Caroline Kennedy for ridiculing Wolfie and here's hoping other Democrats do the same thing. As has been recommended...C-SPAN is the only real coverage here worth watching. I'm soooo tired of hearing the usual suspects who have little interest in real journalism...spewing gossip and "conventional wisdom"...trying to make the story about them.

PBS was fair coverage, but the paid propagandists did not add anything worthwhile.

7. I got disgusted with the constant interpretation
of what was being said at the convention, which we weren't allowed to see, and switched to C-SPAN. Great coverage with no interpretation which I could do on my own. I plan to watch the convention on C-SPAN the rest of the time. I like to make up my own mind about things. Some of the speeches from the regular people are quite good and heartfelt.

the few minutes of Rachel tearing down McSame (and Buchanan) with his POW fallback position for every criticism. I switched to CSPAN also.

18. But Issues and People Are Boring
The corporate media are like a bunch of gossips in the school lunch room...and with the combined maturity of a hormonally challenged 16 year old. They want "sizzle"...something they can beat into the ground to fit one of their pre-concieved memes...those people who were relating their stories in Senator Brown's Town Hall weren't as "exciting" as finding yet another PUMA or repugnican hack to stir up the shit.

How dare you want to make up your own mind...the corporate media feels it knows all and you must eat it with a spoon or you're definitely a radical of some sort.

There were a bunch of great moments last night the corporate spinner ignored to they could interview themselves...cause it's all about them..."the best political team on teevee"...real issues and real people have no room in their world.

Cheers...

20. Apsitively!
As soon as I noted the clear bias on CNN (and I admit I was expecting some when I tuned in) I watched the remainder on PBS.

8. Watch C-SPAN if you want convention coverage without spin.
J. Jackson Jr.'s speech was really good. Truthfully, I fell asleep during Pelosi's time on the podium. I woke up in time to see Caroline (terrific) and Ted Kennedy (WOW!). Michelle Obama was the icing on the cake. What a woman! She gave a pitch perfect address. The girls were charming as well. Good night for us, I thought.

13. Get off your horse.
The GOP will receive the same amount of primetime coverage for their convention.

There's no conspiracy afoot.

19. I'm tired of hearing that there is a conspiracy around every corner.
Political conventions today are highly orchestrated campaign ads, the networks shouldn't be covering them in full.

There isn't "sabotage" going on in regards to convention coverage, and I severely doubt that any network will be airing live what I assume is Boehner's non-primetime address to the GOP convention.

23. I think it was 2000 when the networks cut coverage...
to an hour or so a night, and really only suffered the keynote and accptance speeches.

Conventions just weren't getting the ratings they wanted-- PBS, CSPAN, and cable news were there if you really, really, needed your political fix.

When conventions actually had floor fights and roll call votes to choose the candidate, not just coronate him, they were worth watching for the suspense, there was gavel to gavel coverage. Now, it's all highly choreographed PR and speechifyin' in both conventions that become boring to all but political junkies. No fun at all, really.

26.  I like your interpretation
Of the conventions in general. They were more edgy prior to the '80s. More of a pep-rally now. Although the "little people" parts are interesting, even inspirational I really wanted to hear Caroline Kennedy most of all (may she never fly in small craft!)

I was amazed by the Senator's speech, more the sheer willpower it must have taken than the actual words. He's a lion.

I didn't really expect much from the networks, they can't even make a decent cartoon show any more.

24. Pelosi did a good job on 'what the congress did'.
I hear that from the righties in my family. 'They didn't do anything.'

She gave a nice list. I'm not her biggest fan but she did wonderful.

27. She did
I've lost some respect for her in the past several, but she spoke well.

As to that heckler above who is so disturbed by conspiracy theory, CNN blacked out a speech from the Speaker of the House at a national party convention, in favor of their hacks hi-5ing each other. Clearly their priorities are skewed, albeit the cause *may not* be conspiratorial. Had he been more civil, I might have asked him to interpret that particular gaffe by the media.
