To all of you disgruntled Hillary supporters who are voting for McCain
I don't think you even fucking exist.

If you do, prove it. Post your response here about what McCain offers that Hillary was going to give you.

I'll be waiting. A long time. Because you exist only in the minds of our ridiculous corporate-owned media.

4. Absolutely!
The point of this thread is that the "disgruntled Hillary supporter who is voting for McCain" is a total phantasm.

29. They don't exist... period.
It's eleven hours after my OP and not a single substantive response from a disgruntled Hillary supporter who's leaning McCain.

Yet, when I watch the news tonight, I'm going to be told that there is some massive tide of such.

3. They barely exist, if they even do
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 08:07 AM by Gman
This is getting to be remarkably good astroturf illusions. I was a solid Hillary backer and I know many others. But I don't know a single one that will be voting for McCain. And, I'm not talking about DU. I don't think there's any here at DU.

I think this is more marketing of an illusion than substance.

5. i agree that it's being marketed
and i'm sure plenty of them were either soft democrats or not democrats at all.
but there are real dems out there who will vote for mccain. in times past they were called reagan democrats.
while fewer people are indentifying themselves as repubs that doesn't mean they're going to vote obama.
isn't it the 20% or so in the middle that usually swing elections. that middle is liberal leaning repubs conservative leaning dems and the traditional indies. it doesn't surprise me that some dems are breaking for johny mac.

If you look at the google on his name you'll find a "DU Funnies" (FReepers making light of us).

The FReeps loved him. Rimjob called him "the gift that keeps on giving"...perhaps consider this a regift of the highest karmic magnitude. "Merry Christmas FReepers! Hope you choke on Perry's eggnog!"

Democrats who are mad that Hillary is not the candidate and who are voting for McCain.

Surely there must have been some Hillary person who has posted here and is now going with the confused old coot.

Like I said, we are being told that these people are legion.

In particular, anyone expressing an intention of voting for McCain would be banned, so you wouldn't find them here for long...

18. that's funny
and correct. i think there were some who posted here that have been banned. while i don't want to over inflate their
impact, it would be foolish to simply say they don't really exist. i saw the interview last night with one from ohio who had been involved with the democratic party and was now a puma. she said they are targeting areas in ohio and western pennsylvania to flip votes for mccain. i don't think anyone should panic about what they're trying but to simply dismiss them as being a creation of the media could be a mistake. i keep remembering that gore lost florida by about 300 votes.

Maybe the next President will be a great communicator who understands hanging chads and who can explain to old folks how they can navigate through a deliberately confusing vote-casting process.

21. Here is one have at me
Where do you want me to start. How I was insulted, called any name someone saw fit and then banned from here because of my support for HRC? What you have here are a bunch ideologists who seem a lot of the time to be out of touch. Like a whole lotta college age kids perhaps who have no true grasp of what the real world is like. I am not sure, but there are a few sane ones left, and they get skewered if they speak the truth. But Besides trying to run Hillary and her supporters out of the party, (were any of you alive during the Clinton years)? Seems at odds with those who have a firm grasp of reality. You know why pick a nominee who has a track record of winning?

Anyway, on the latest poll I took I chose Obama (but still could change), from undecided or other on most polls over the last month or 2. Now with the Biden Pick I have lost any and all faith in Obama. All this change talk is nothing more than more bull shit. Biden voted for the war right?....Hillary was skewered for this. So he apologizes, It still tells me he does not have the judgment needed. He has proven he can easily be misled. And when I learned he (biden) voted for the new Bankruptcy bill that favors credit card companies... Surely you can not be so dense as to believe they didn't see this financial mess coming? I mean this hay seed from Ohio predicted this 5 years ago. Anyways,,here is all I can say. I was nearly in a fist fight here in redneck city because I said I was probably voting Obama. Got in a fistfight over Kerry. Yeah I take my politics seriously, and don't care where or when I will tell you what I think, and I reserve the right to change my mind as better information becomes available. And in this case I am leaning Mc-Insane right now. depends on his running mate choice. If he picks Romney I think I could be influenced to vote for him, rather than staying home. When Obama loses Ohio just remember the folks like my neighbors who were already set to vote Clinton, and the Kxxxxxps Both GWB voters, turned solid Clinton now solid who knows, like a lot of us around here we are ANTI Bush. Not necessarily anti McCain.

And yeah I know change blah. blah.....Blah....Yeah sure... You know what will change? The financial situation of those who surround the next president that is all.

Obama, Yes to more spying-D.U. needs to be more centrist,,,,,Biden-YES IWR- D.U. At least he apologzed....Nothing says change like a 35 year senator that can't keep his mouth shut. The endless ads will make the average leftist vomit and the rest of the zombie public say I knew it, I knew it.

Obama only has proven to me that he speaks out of one side of his mouth while doing something else that is at odds with his words. So go ahead and forgive him to another loss of the White House. Perhaps our party will be rid of the ilk by the next election cycle and we can restore some balance to our government.

One last thing to the sore losers from Ohio and the election fraud kooks. We got out played fair and square by pros. The "fag" bill did it. (don't even go there). I went to vote and saw a lady with an 02 bottle with a hose attached and guy with a head the size of a pumpkin, and a few others of note. I took one look and said to myself, "they aren't here to vote for president" they are here to vote against the fags. I came home told the wife...we are fucked, We agreed they were all going to be a votin for GWB. Just a heads up FLA has the same thing on the ballet don't they? So you can expect a very heavy turnout of the going out and a votin against them people, and you don't need much an an imagination to know who they will be a votin fer preznit.. it's a curse I know. For those of the GL Community I mean no offense a few here can get unglued just by reading one word, I am just repeating the reality of what being on the ground here subjects one to.

Go ahead hate on....

And that makes him different from every other politician (including McCain) how?

Maybe I've become very disillusioned, but at the end of the day it's really all about how warm and fuzzy we feel even after a particular candidate has lied to us. There's nothing warm and fuzzy about McCain. Some see him as experienced... I see him as OLD. I refused to elect a president who, like my father-in-law, can't program his own VCR (or do email, for those who don't remember what a VCR is - LOL!)

As for the original question and the Hillary supporters who are going to vote for McCain... I do believe they exist. I think you underestimate the power of racism that still exists in this country. Though a lot of those folks won't admit it, they just won't vote for a black man.

As for me, I AM voting for Obama... and I believe he will win. I wasn't alive when JFK was elected, but I somehow imagine that Obama supporters feel as passionate as JFK supporters did, and this IS a moment in history... even if he is, at his core, still just another politician. At least he's a politician who DOES make me feel warm and fuzzy.

ps... I'm new around here! From New York, registered Democrat, married to a registered Independent who digs Obama too (we see eye-to-eye on most things) and who loves to follow politics along side of me.
