THEY met on the local hot rod scene. They saw one another at tattoo conventions around the area, comparing bikes. They looked like heavies, a band of Hells Angels, with nicknames equally tough: Mike Tattoo, Big Ant, Johnny O, Batso, Sal, Angel, Des.
Tough Guys and Puppies They meant no harm. Clad in leather, inked to the hilt in skulls and dragons, with images of bloodied barbed wire looped about their necks, they shared something else — a peculiar tenderness for animals, and the intensity needed to act on the animals’ behalf when people abuse them

8. I notice that two of these men have lost their construction jobs--because of all the time they

spend on animal rescue, perhaps? The article also mentions that they spend a huge amount of money on it, as well. I wonder if there is a place to donate. (I skimmed it fast--didn't read carefully.) Maybe this article will bring a lot of money their way to fund their efforts.

I couldn't help but laugh at the slide show. When all those tatooed bikers were standing there explaining to the used car lot manager what they could do for the mama dog and her puppies, I was thinking that he was not likely to argue with them.
