It didn't occur to me that my previous posts could be so tremendously misunderstood. I did notice, though, that my profile was on "hide." This post:

was made to be a warning, that the Republican smear campaign was ramping up and that counter-offensives would be needed. I wouldn't have written that way, but I was in a panic, and had fifteen minutes to get to work. My initial thought was this wasn't true. I was arguing in a chat room where the statement was made: "how can Obama do this to his own flesh and blood?" That guy was a supposed independent.

I wasn't being a right winger casting "nuclear slime bombs," I was afraid that would be coming, and that we'd need to brace ourselves, rally around our candidate, and fling some back.

I am worried, if not really panicked, that mudslinging either way only favors the Republicans, for whom reveling in slime has now become a key part of the movement, demonstrated by Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, et al. Liberals might lose because smears inspire fire up conservatives either way they're thrown.

I panic at the thought. I think conservatism is in eclipse and that Obama will overcome it. In fact, I've bet on Obama to win against a conservative acquaintance. But my hopes falter sometimes. I'm still traumatized from the Kerry election, where I gave $750 to the Democratic Party and to the Kerry campaign, and then declared bankruptcy in 2005. lol. In general, I feel much far more hopeful about Obama than about Kerry. I remember the discouragement after making calls on election day . . .

I find the trolls here amusing. If anything they always seem to get TS'd before I get to see or be part of the fun. And that's all it is, fun...nothing more. I long ago learned never to take places like these personally. This is like a water cooler...a fun place to gossip or vent, but little more. If these trolls think they're accomplishing something by coming here and trying to stir the shit, it just shows who has the real problem.

Panic? Due to some trolls? That's what they're hoping for. Fear is one of the only tools these goons have...making your life as miserable as theirs.
