A tip of the hat to Sonya Richards and all the ladies on the track
last night. That race was probably the most exciting thing in the Olympics. Sonya Richards was just outstanding running the last leg of the race.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

1. Yeah they were pretty incredible. We were behind for a bit but
the other team started to look winded, and our girls were still going strong.

2. That's Sanya Richards
born in Jamaica and a Vaz prep school track star. Her mother insisted she leave Jamaica to further her track career. She ran a superb anchor although it was really Alison Felix who set up the race for the US team. Felix ran a brilliant leg. Sanya catching the Russian was delightful to watch.

That said, I have to disagree with you - the three Usain Bolt World records, including the 4 X 1 relay where he handed the baton to the previous 100m World Record Holder Asafa Powell, were the best track events bar none. Veronica Campbell defending her 200m gold was also beautiful to watch.

3. My sincere apology for misspelling Sanya's name. All the
races you've listed were excellent, but Sanya's last leg was something else. I kept saying to myself "ok, silver is good" and then she just blew past that other girl like she was standing still. What also amazed me about all the track runners - they do that and then are hardly breathing heavy when it's over. Just amazing.

4. Sanya was the best in the world at 400 all year until the
Olympic 400m when she was beaten by the Nigerian running for Britain, Christine Ohuruogu. Jamaica came second with Shericka Williams and Sanya won bronze. Many Jamaicans are not amused that Sanya is running for the USA and whenever she runs with our best athletes, losing to her is not an option.

There was no way that the Russian could go the distance with Sanya unless she was well juiced. Sanya should have won two easy gold medals here. She went out too fast too early and played right into the hands of the best run on runner in that race, Ohuruogu. The same mistake was made by Jeremy Wariner who should also have won the 400m for men. They share the same coach and it was amusing that American Lashawn Merritt won that race with Wariner's old coach now coaching him.
