Any chance of having a Positive discussion about how HRC's quotes are being used by the repugs?
and how to counter them effectively

I'm sure that by now we have all seen the McGaffe ad with Hillary's quotes from the primaries.

This ad seems to put us in a box. If we ignore them, or do not try to dispute them then we continue to be hammered with them right through election day.

If we do counter punch we risk insulting Hillary and further alienating her supporters.

We need a way to diffuse the statements without diminishing the person making those statements.

Any thoughts? (and please try to keep this thread positive)

1. I don't think we need to counter what she says in the ad.
But since Obama selected Biden -- who also said some negative things about Obama during the primaries -- I think that in itself negates the punch of the ad.

It's not unusual for the nominee to choose a former competitor, and there will always be some negative stuff out there.

If McCain picks Romney, there will be some pretty nasty stuff that Romney said about him during the primaries.

2. doubtful.
she alienated many moderates and liberals. She concocted lies and bull, and probably the only efficient and effective part of her campaign was the dirt-diggers who managed to find and promote 45 seconds of fame out of 20 years of weekly sermons from a christian minister. Worst of all, she provided a blue print on how to attack Barack and smear him. Even to this day, he suffers from lies she and her campaign shamelessly concocted. And throughout it all Bill and Hill try to look as though they are the injured parties. R I G H T .

No, it would take an incredible amount of honesty on her part to admit that much of her campaign attacks were baseless, a fraud, a series of lies, and at best, devious spin taking things out of context. I have never seen the slightest hint of her having even an atom of such honesty or integrity. Besides, being so honest at this time, would adversely impact her political future. Only SHE can undo the damage she personally caused, and she is the least likely person to take such a step.

Face it. She gave McCain a gift that keeps on giving. and created and taste tested attacks and ideas that even Rove would never have thought of.

3. Unlikely. Of course, there is no need to bring up HRC's name in this context.
If you want to talk about negatives ads from the Repubs, go for it.

8. I think the ad...
gives Hillary the chance to come out and trash McCain. The ad is actually an opportunity for Hillary to get right with the people.

I just fear she won't see it this way. If I was her I would be worried about her actions, and supporters costing us the election.
