Anyone else watching Lt. Col. John Nagl (Ret.) defend the surge on C-Span?

Anyone else seen his name as the coauthor *of* the surge manuel with Petraeus? This was the guy they trotted out on the Daily Show in full uniform some time back to say amongst others, "By Polite, be professional. Be prepared to kill."

He's still talking about "leverage and twisting arms", it is such a tacky scene watching how quickly neocons rotate these strange thinkers so close to policy formation.

The Field Manual 3-24, Counterinsurgency was Nagl's crowning military acheivment...it is to his personal satisfaction, and aggrandizement as a civilian, that the perception of that piece of military thought continue to be viewed in a favorable light. As well the republicans and individuals who continue to implement it.
