The class in Constitutional Law that Senator Biden taught at Widener Law was limited to about a dozen students per semester, and was three hours every Saturday morning.
One morning, when he was recalling the Bork confirmation hearings, one of the guys in the class said, "You and Judge Bork should be on Celebrity Death Match."
"Celebrity Death Match? What's that?" Biden asked.
"It's a show on MTV where they have celebrities fighting in a ring to the death."
"To the death? Really?", and as he asked, his eyes practically lit up and he seemed genuinely intrigued by the possibility of going on the show with Robert Bork.
"Well... not really. It's claymation," the student explained.
And with that, his expression sank a bit as he let out a distinctly disappointed, "Oh."
I cracked up and nearly peed. Here was a US Senator who was let down by the facts that (a) there was a television program anywhere which he hadn't been on as a guest yet, and (b) where he'd get an opportunity to kill an opponent with his bare hands... but it wasn't real. Shucks.
