Poll question: What's really behind the GOP's criticism of the Biden pick?
Okay, so it's official: Joe Biden is Obama's VP pick.

It took a while, but the GOP finally answered the 3 a.m. phone call with an internets ad, which looked like it had been waiting on a shelf somewhere. It was lame and defines cookie-cutter.

But, what's really behind the complaint?

From the selections below, choose the phrase that best describes what you think is behind the GOP's criticism of the Biden pick.

1. Are you referring to the Biden spot where he's being questioned about
Obama's readiness? That's the only one I've seen thus far.

3. I really don't want to post GOP crap, but ...
... the criticism that Obama picked Biden as a way to bolsert his lack of experience and because he somehow lacks "confidence".

4. Okay. Now I can respond -- Have you noticed that I'm
frequently asking for clarification on your polls so I can answer correctly? I take these SERIOUSLY! :7

5. I agree.
They know they have nothing to counter the consequences to their failed policies and scandal-plagued figureheads.

They see the end and they're grasping at straws.

7. what did anyone expect?
that they'd roll out the welcome mat? They were going to try to tear down anyone Obama selected. I'm sure they had off the shelf attack ads ready for the entire short list, maybe the long list too.

Biden's going to be a lot tougher for them, though. Doesn't matter how much "material" they've got on him. He's white male, lunchbox, Catholic, Pennsylvania, deep foreign affairs and financial.

I think to court the Hillary supporters and paper over the hardcore antiabortion, wymmens iz property, McCain stance, they may try to get a woman on the ticket. Libby Dole? Kay Hutchinson?

8. I still think it might be 9iu11ani.
There is no way the GOP will pick anyone who could pass as a minority.

9iu11ani is pro choice and entrenched, everything the GOP wants in a loyal servant of the Party.

BTW, welcome to DU!

9. Other: Funk. Sheer, naked, knee-knocking, drawers-crapping FUNK
They know they are going down. The question is how big. How far down, and will they be able to salvage anything from the wreckage.

This is the fat lady belting out "Vissi d'arte" at 120 dB.

This is the giant fork skewering them.

This is the toaster popping up and the butter spreading.

I imagine the stench of fear and anxiety pheromones around the RNC is pretty thick right now.

If they had done just a teeny bit less damage to my country and my Constitution over the last thirty years, I'd spare them a molecule of sympathy.

As it is, I have all I can do to avoid unseemly and bad-karma-attracting schadenfreude.

bluntly,
Bright

10. Re: They know they are going down.
My impression is either they don't really want to win, because no one will be able to successfully deal with the Bush morass in a mere 4 years (so come next election they can call the Dems a failure) and they're playing to lose intentionally or McCurmudgeon is just really as lame as he appears...and therefore should not be our leader, no way no how.

Just my take on it.
