I hate living in a "swing state" at this time...
Because our votes are sought after by both candidates here in Wisconsin, we are getting bombarded by campaign ads.

And McCain's ads are simply infuriating, in their tendency to LIE. :grr:

On the other hand, you might be glad to know that you matter to the candidates.

Many states are simply written off.

2. Unplug your phone.
At least activism seems rewarding in a swing state. In 2004 I traveled to NV ten times and even though we lost the state, we won our objective (Clark county).

The peace is blissful.

4. See your hate and up you a couple thoughts that would put me on a list here in St Paul.
Things I know:
St Paul and most local businesses will lose money.
Law enforcement has been militarized.
Streets are already being closed.
Manholes are being welded shut.
Flower pots are being removed.
Protesters are massing.
Paid infiltrators to start trouble are massing.
Hookers are being flown in.
Nobody can see their doctor, dentist, accountant downtown for a week.
Nobody who works in downtown can get there without being searched.
The media still thinks it is in Minneapolis.
I had to present ID to visit my sister in her apartment 1 mile north of downtown on Monday.
I think I can actually feel the evil building as the advance people arrive.
The news media political coverage and political ads are running nonstop.
DU Minnesota has no ideas that will actually make any difference. I see the same old failed songs and dances.
I am getting beaucoup calls from people in groups soliciting money, groups I have never heard of promising again to "stop the GOP".
Wish I could say I will be glad when it is all over but I am less than confident that the people who are on my ballot will turn this freight train to hell around.

6. Hookers are being flown in?
Then that truckload of handcuffs really aren't for the police.

5. I would LOVE to live in a state that "might" go
democratic, rather than this bastion of idiots who vote against their own best interest in Alabama.

7. I don't live in a swing state, but I do live close by one
I live in Maryland in the DC suburbs. We are being bombarded because Virginia is a swing state this year.

8. As an Ohioan, I agree. I am willing to canvas but I will NOT phone bank, as I recall how pissed off
folks (including us) were in 2004. I had folks say if they got another call they wouldn't vote at all they were so sick of it.
