6. The real problem here is that the Jamaican ladies

were going for the World Record instead of merely trying to win the race. Sherone was running too fast.

5. They had something on last night about why Russia is always in the mix

in the 4x100 relay. They said it was because they had run together as a team for something like 10 years. And now it is so commonplace for different people to run the qualifying than the race. So you have people who may not have even run a relay before, and definitely may not have run with the people they are running with in the final. I don't really like it in swimming either, but there is less that can go wrong in swimming. In the relays the baton pass is just as important as the time that is run.

Is it just me or is this happening more often now than it used to?
