For recreation, the White House has a variety of facilities available to its residents, including a tennis court, jogging track, swimming pool, movie theater, and bowling lane.

At various times in history, the White House has been known as the "President's Palace," the "President's House," and the "Executive Mansion." President Theodore Roosevelt officially gave the White House its current name in 1901.

Or better yet turn it into a museum with tours and build a much more modest residence for the President and his/her family.

I'm not suggesting a log cabin but give me a break! Does a President really need live like royalty and require 132 rooms to live in and conduct business?

The names presidential mansion, executive mansion and palace were dropped because they pointed out just how elitist the residence is!

White House sounds so very nice .... it's just a plain ole house where the president happens to live.

Do all the Presidents and Prime Ministers of other major nations have huge mansions to live in? I hope not.
