Thousands protest against Bush arrival in Uruguay
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=233101

Thousands of Uruguayans took to the streets of Montevideo to protest President Bush's arrival in their country late Friday.

The Uruguayan capital, is where Mr. Bush is making the second stop in a five-nation tour of Latin America aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with the region.

Labor leaders read vitriol-laden speeches denouncing Mr. Bush, the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, and what they termed U.S. 'imperialism.'

Near the front of the crowd was shoe salesman Jose Ramirez, who said Mr. Bush bears responsibility for atrocities in Iraq and other parts of the world. 'The Uruguayan people have traditionally rejected imperialism and genocide. And it seems very correct for us to come and express how we feel,' he said.

1. They hate W for his policies as much as we do.
W is for the rich corporate globalists. That's always been his bread and butter and he's not going to change it now.

3. How have we come to this?
Remember when President Clinton visited overseas and the crowds that came wanted to shake his hand and give him hugs and now these crowds want to tear bush limb from limb. He is a disgrace to our great country and the two years til the end of his administration can not come too soon for me.

5. NPR's
"All Things Considered" labeled the actions of the protesters, "Anti-American" and "Anti-Free-Trade", and continued to elaborate with comments and quotes which were clearly "Anti-BUSH". Oh, and these people who come from democratically-elected governments were also described as, "Leftist Rebels."

I can just imagine what the rest of the MSM is saying.:eyes:

6. Anybody know anything about this "bignewsnetwork.com"? They have no info
at their site about who they are, or where, or what war profiteers or rightwing fascists own them. There is no "About Us." They seem to pull from different US, UK, Aussie and other news organizations. One chief US source is deseretnews.com, which seems to be rightwing Utah news site.* My overall impression is that it is mostly rightwing slant (although BBC and a few selective Guardian articles in the UK section). I've never heard of this "Big News Network" before, and I like to keep my war profiteering corporate news monopolies straight, so I know whose crap is being fed to me and others. Anybody got any info?

*(Check out this dreadfully fascist editorial on Bush in South America: http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,660201684,00.html)

This article about the protests against Bush in Uruaguay is fairly loaded (to the right) in its opening. It's not quite so bad as you read to the end. At least it quotes what may be real people, but the choice of a protester quote about the US border wall against Mexico seems a rather strange way to start off that section. "Labor leaders read vitriol-laden speeches denouncing Mr. Bush" is particularly objectionable. This is the reporter's or an editor's opinion, that what labor leaders had to say was "vitriol-laden." No quotes of what they said. What did they actually say? Who knows? They don't tell you. Was it well deserved "vitriol"? Was it accurate? This is the worst sort of journalism--real amateur rightwingism.
