McC was captive for 6 years.

Obama taught Contitutional Law for 12 years.

Which, in your opinion, was better preparation for the Presidency?

7. I don't think either position is generically indicative of presidential talent.
McCain's an ass, but that has nothing to do with his being a POW. That COULD be aformative experience - as FDR's polio was - if McCain wasn't a jerk.

Obama's teaching Con Law could mean something, or it might not. FDR never completed law school. JFK wasn't a lawyer. Neither was LBJ. Truman had no college degree.

I don't think either is a real indicator of presidential talent, though it's obvious McCain has no aptitude or proper attitude for it.

9. Perhaps it would be easier if you just indicate in your
original post that responses are unnecessary unless the poster is agreeing with your position, patting you on the back for saying it, and recommending your OP to the greatest page . . .

it would save this sort of snarky response to everyone who dares to suggest that they have a different opinion.

gads.

14. It's that "constitutional law professor" gig that gives me pause..
Obama _still_ voted for FISA with telecom immunity.

He should have known better.

15. And during the DC primary he supported the DC gun ban, but not this summer.
You don't need a law degree to want to see things your own way.

Bill Clinton - another law professor - did the same kind of thing.

There isn't any 'one' good criteria to be a good president. He seems to want the job badly and I think he might have a good temperamant for it.
