Cindy McCain vs. Mothers Against Drunk Driving
Cindy's company,
"Hensley & Company, the enormous beer distributorship she controls, “lobbies regulatory agencies on alcohol issues that involve public health and safety,” in opposition to groups like Mothers Against Drunk Driving. The McCain campaign told The Times that Mrs. McCain’s future role in her beer empire won’t be revealed before the election."

3. Good for her. I oppose neo-prohibitionists.
From wikipedia.....

........"By 1985, many MADD leaders were calling for the criminalization of all driving after drinking any amount of alcoholic beverage. Lightner disagreed with this aim and said that police ought to be concentrating their resources on arresting drunk drivers, not those drivers who happen to have been drinking.

Lightner stated that MADD "has become far more neo-prohibitionist than I had ever wanted or envisioned … I didn't start MADD to deal with alcohol. I started MADD to deal with the issue of drunk driving".<24>........"

note -Candice Lightner is the founder of MAAD

.

I also hear that MADD is one of the worst "charities" as far what percentage of money is spent on the actual cause. Most $ goes to enriching fat cat executives.

4. I blame them
for the excuse to start having police checkpoints. I tell their telemarketers that when they call asking for donations.

5. Agreed. MADD has moved beyond Lightner's
original goal to an organization that would like to see Prohibition return, as though it would somehow work this time around.

6. Screw MADD
Didn't their president essentially endorse Bush in 2000? A guy and his running mate with three DUI's between them.......as nonsensical as all those Jewish folks who voted for Buchanan.
